Arsenal play hosts to Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday, both sides look to finish the season in a positive style.

Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes look all-but over after the Gunners drew 3-3 with West Ham last time out. The Gunners established a two goal lead through goals from Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, only for two let first half goals from Andy Carroll to level the scores.

Carroll gave the Hammers the lead early in the second half, but French centre-back Laurent Koscielny rescued a point for the side from north London.

The draw did little for Arsene Wenger’s side’s chances of winning the title, as the Gunners are now 13 points behind league leaders Leicester, although the side from north London do have a game in-hand.

Palace moved closer to the magic point’s total of 40 by drawing 0-0 with Everton last time. The Eagles failed to take advantage of the Toffees playing for much of the second half with ten men, after James McCarthy saw red.

Alan Pardew’s side moved on 38 points and are now 16th in the top-flight table, but more importantly 11 points clear of relegation zone. The Eagles now look safe from relegation.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met 13 times in the Premier League, with Arsenal dominating the meetings by winning ten games, there has been two draws and Palace have recorded just one win.

The Gunners have also won five out of the six meetings in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium, with Palace winning just once.

Arsenal have won eight of the last ten meetings in all competitions between these two teams.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has faced Palace on nine occasions, winning seven times and drawing twice. The French boss has never been beaten by Palace.

In stark contrast Palace boss Alan Pardew has faced Arsenal on 14 occasions, suffering nine defeats, recording three draws and winning just twice.

Arsenal have won just one of their last five home games in all competitions, although that win did come in their home game in a 4-0 win.

Team Selection And News

Arsenal are once again expected to be without injured quartet of midfielders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky. Petr Cech could return to the starting line-up, while Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey could also start after coming off the bench last time out.

The Eagles still have doubts over the fitness of centre-back Brede Hangeland and central midfielder James McArthur, while striker Marouane Chamakh is once again expected to miss out through injury.

Possible Arsenal Team Selection

Cech, Bellerin, Koscielny, Gabriel, Monreal, Coquelin, Elneny, Sanchez, Ozil, Iwobi, Welbeck

Possible Crystal Palace Team Selection

Hennessey, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare, Jedinak, Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon, Bolasie, Gayle

Match Prediction

Arsenal should have enough quality to see off a Crystal Palace side that have been poor on their travels and the Gunners pretty good on home soil. Arsene Wenger’s side have been prolific and I can see goals in this clash once again.
