Two of the giants of the English game meet on Sunday, as Arsenal hosts Manchester United at the Emirates.
Arsenal has been highly inconsistent this season. Last time out in the Premier League the Gunners claimed a 5-2 victory at in-form Leicester, as Alexis Sanchez rediscovered his scoring form netting a hat-trick.
However, the Gunners suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at home to Olympiakos on Tuesday night in the Champions League, which was their second consecutive defeat in Europe’s elite competition.
Despite being in erratic form this season, the Gunners could go on level points with league leaders United with a victory in this clash.
The visitors have hit form of late, and currently sit top of the Premier League table, following three successive top-flight wins. Last time out in the Premier League, the Red Devils defeated struggling Sunderland 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Facts And Figures

Manchester United has enjoyed the better of the Premier League clashes between these two teams, claiming 21 wins from the 46 games played. Arsenal has claimed 11 wins, while there has also been 14 draws.
The record at Arsenal is slightly closer, as the home side have won on eight occasions, United have won seven games and there has also been eight draws.
Arsenal has won just two of the last ten meetings between these two sides in all competitions. However, one of those wins came in last season’s FA Cup quarter-finals at Old Trafford.
Manchester United has scored three or more goals in their last three Premier League games.

Team News

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger made a number of changes for the Champions League defeat against Olympiakos, but the veteran French boss could make just two changes to the starting line-up from the Leicester game last time out in the Premier League.
Laurent Koscielny picked-up an injury in the midweek defeat and is set to be replaced by Per Mertesacker. Francis Coquelin returned from injury in that midweek defeat and is likely to replace compatriot Mathieu Flamini in the centre of midfield.
The visitors have a number of problems heading into this clash. Full-back Luke Shaw has a long-term injury, and potential replacement Marcos Rojo is a doubt. If he fails to make it Matteo Darmian is likely to continue at left-back, with Antonio Valencia at right-back.
The Red Devils also have doubts over the fitness of centre-back Paddy McNair, and midfielders Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick.

Possible Arsenal line-up: Cech, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez, Walcott

Possible Manchester United line-up: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Darmian, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Mata, Rooney, Depay, Martial

Arsenal vs Manchester United Match Prediction

This game has the potential to be a highly entertaining affair, with both teams being in good goal scoring form of late. The Gunners have a pretty good home record, but I believe United will head home with a point.
The alternative bet to go for is over 2.5 goals, due to both teams being in such good form in front of goal.
