Aston Villa welcome out-of-form Crystal Palace to Villa Park on Tuesday in the Premier League as the home side seeks just their second league victory of the season.
Aston Villa are still rock-bottom of the Premier League table, having claimed just eight points this season in the top-flight. The Villans woes continued last time out in the top-flight, as the side from the Midlands suffered a 3-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Sunderland.
Black Cats striker Jermain Defoe grabbed a brace and defender Patrick van Aanholt also got on the scoresheet for the north east side. Spanish playmaker Carles Gil grabbed a superb goal for Villa, but it proved nothing more than a consolation goal in the end.
The visitors head to Villa Park in a slight slump, as they failed to win any of their three games over the Christmas and New Year period. Last time out in the top-flight they suffered a 3-0 home defeat by reigning champions Chelsea, as Oscar, Willian and Diego Costa got on the scoresheet for the Blues.
Their relative recent poor run of form has seen the Eagles drop to seventh in the top-flight table, but Alan Pardew’s side are still just five points off fourth-place Spurs in the table.

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace Match Prediction

Villa has struggled to pick-up points of late, but their performances have improved slightly under Remi Garde. However, they still do not look like winning a top-flight game. Palace seems to be going through a slight dip in form and I can see this ending in a low-scoring draw.
