Aston Villa hosts Manchester City at Villa Park on Sunday in the Premier League early kick-off, as the top and bottom teams clash.
The home side are on a run of seven straight defeats in the Premier League. Last time out the Villans suffered a 3-1 defeat Tottenham on Monday night. Since the defeat, French boss Remi Garde has been appointed as Villans boss.
Garde has a difficult job in reviving the Villans fortunes, as the side from the Midlands are bottom of the table, having picked-up just four points this season. A home game against the league leaders is a baptism of fire for the former-Lyon boss.
Manchester City heads to the Midlands top of the Premier League table, but only ahead of second place Arsenal on goal difference. The Citizens defeated Norwich 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium last time out, with Yaya Toure’s late penalty enough to give the leaders maximum points.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be confident of victory in this clash, but will be wary of the threat that a new manager may inspire a turnaround in fortunes for the home side.
City’s club-record signing Kevin De Bruyne has been a big hit with the Citizens since his summer arrival. The Belgium international has scored three goals and provided four assists in his six Premier League appearances so far.

Team News

New Villa boss Garde could shake-up his team for this clash. Centre-back Micah Richards, midfielder Ashley Westwood and striker Gabriel Agbonlahor are all doubts for this clash. The likes of Rudy Gestede, Jordan Ayew and Carles Gil will be hoping to be restored to the starting line-up.
Manchester City heads into this game with a number of key absentees. Full-back Pablo Zabaleta is joined on the injured list by star duo Sergio Aguero and David Silva. French midfielder Samir Nasri is also expected to miss out with a hamstring injury.

Aston Villa v Manchester City Match Prediction

Despite the arrival of a new man in the Villa dugout, Manchester City will be confident of a victory at the leagues bottom club and have enough quality to see off the Villans in this clash. This looks set to be an entertaining one and an alternative bet would be over 2.5 goals scored.

Our Big Match Tip

We are backing Manchester City to win 3-0 against a really poor Villa side at a nice price of 9/1 with Corals our bookmaker of the week.
