Bournemouth hosts Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium on Boxing Day, as both teams look to continue decent runs of form in the Premier League.
The home side have now recorded three consecutive wins in the Premier League, after a 2-1 victory at nine-man West Brom last time out. Young full-back Adam Smith gave the Cherries the lead early in the second half, after Baggies winger James McClean was dismissed in the first half.
It looked like Tony Pulis’ side had rescued a point on 79 minutes, as centre-back Gareth McAuley equalised. However, with just three minutes remaining Charlie Daniels struck the winner from the penalty spot. There was still time for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon to be sent-off.
The Cherries have moved up to 14th position in the Premier League table after three consecutive victories.
Crystal Palace also recorded an away win last time out, winning 2-1 at Stoke City. The Eagles took the lead in first half stoppage-time through a Connor Wickham spot-kick. The Potters struck back on 76 minutes, when Bojan scored from the spot.
Palace secured all three points with just two minutes remaining through a strike from substitute Lee Chung-yong. The win means that the Eagles are in sixth position in the top-flight, only outside the top four positions on goal difference.
