Bournemouth hosts Newcastle at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League, with both teams in desperate need of three points.
Bournemouth poor recent run in the Premier League continued last weekend, as the Cherries suffered a 2-0 loss at south coast rivals Southampton, with Steven Davis and Graziano Pelle getting the goals.
The defeat means that Eddie Howe’s team have now gone five games without a top-flight victory. The poor run of form has seen the Cherries slump to 17th in the Premier League table, just a point outside the relegation zone.
Newcastle are in an even worse position than their opponents, sitting in 18th place a point behind the Cherries in the table. The Magpies at least kept a clean sheet last time out in an uninspiring goalless draw with Stoke at St James Park.
It was only Steve McClaren’s side second clean sheet of the campaign. There other came in an unlikely goalless draw at Manchester United. Despite the gloom surrounding the Magpies, a win in this game would take them out of the relegation zone.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have never faced each other in any competitive game, so this clash will be a little piece of history.
Newcastle has failed scored in nine of their last 11 Premier League away games.
The Magpies have also only failed to avoid defeat once in their last 11 top-flight games on their travels, which was in that aforementioned goalless draw at Old Trafford.
Newcastle has conceded two or more goals in seven of their last eight away games in the Premier League.
The home side have kept just one clean sheet in the Premier League.

Team News

Both teams head into this clash with lengthy injury lists. The home side have been cursed with a number of long-term injuries this season. Left-back Tyrone Mings, winger Max Gradel striker Callum Wilson and centre-back Tommy Elphick are all long-term absentees.
Centre-back Steve Cook and goalkeeper Artur Boruc are both doubts for this clash after missing the defeat at Southampton. However, the pair are expected to be fit to feature in this clash. The Cherries have also recently received a boost with midfielder Harry Arter’s return to fitness.
Newcastle’s squad is also injury hit. First choice ‘keepers Tim Krul and Karl Darlow are still both out, while third choice Rob Elliot is a doubt. If he fails to make it then the Magpies could be forced to play teenager Freddie Woodman in goal.
Steven Taylor, Jack Colback, Gabriel Obertan, Emmanuel Riviere and Curtis Good are all expected to miss out, while Dutch full-back Daryl Janmaat is also a doubt for the clash.

Possible Bournemouth team line-up: Boruc, Francis, Cook, Distin, Daniels, Ritchie, Surman, Gosling, Pugh, Arter, Murray

Possible Newcastle team line-up: Woodman, Janmaat, Mbemba, Coloccini, Dummett, Sissoko, Anita, Tiote, Wijnaldum, Perez, Mitrovic

Bournemouth v Newcastle Match Prediction

This game could go either way, as neither side have been in great form of late, but I have sneaking suspicion that the home side may just nick the three points. Bournemouth to win is 6/5
An alternative bet would be over 2.5 goals scored (odds are 5/6 with Corals), because both of these two teams have been poor in defence of late.
