Chelsea hosts Southampton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League late kick-off on Saturday, as the reigning champions look for a return to winning ways.
The Blues have endured a difficult campaign so far, and last time their struggles continued with a 2-2 draw at struggling Newcastle. However, it could have been far worse for Jose Mourinho’s team, as the Blues needed goals from Willian and Ramires in the last 15 minutes to rescue a point.
The draw leaves the reigning Premier League champions stranded in 15th position in the Premier League table, as the Blues have picked-up just eight points from their opening seven top-flight games. Mourinho’s team are now eight points behind league leaders Manchester United.
Southampton has enjoyed an inconsistent campaign so far. The team from the south coast are currently in midtable on nine points, following a 3-1 win over Swansea last time out, with the Saints goals coming from Virgil van Dijk, Dusan Tadic and Sadio Mane.
The Saints have drawn all three of their away games this season, but will be looking at this game as a chance to improve that record, with the Blues struggling for wins this season, although the Blues do have a formidable record at Stamford Bridge.
