Crystal Palace take on fellow Premier League strugglers Norwich at Selhurst Park on Saturday, as both teams attempt to move further clear of the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace edged clear of the relegation zone last time out with a 2-2 draw at 10-man West Ham. The Eagles took the lead through a strike from defender Damien Delaney, before goals from Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet put the home side 2-1 up.

West Ham were reduced to ten men midway through the second half, as midfielder Cheick Kouyate saw red. Palace rescued a point with a goal from substitute striker Dwight Gayle.

The draw moved Palace seven points clear of the drop zone with time running out for the Eagles rivals at the bottom of the table to catch them this season. Alan Pardew’s side may have got a point at West Ham, but they have still not won in 13 games in the top-flight.

Norwich secured a vital 3-2 home victory against relegation rivals Newcastle last time out in dramatic style. Timm Klose gave Norwich the lead before substitute Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised. The Canaries regained the lead on 74 minutes through Dieumerci Mbokani, only for Mitrovic to strike again with just four minutes remaining.

Just when it looks like the Magpies had claimed a draw, Norwich scored a 93rd minute winner through Martin Olsson. The win means that the Canaries are now four points clear of the relegation zone.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met nine times in the Premier League, with Norwich recording four victories, four games finishing in draws and Palace winning just once.

The four Premier League meetings at Selhurst Park have seen two Norwich wins and two games drawn.

Despite their superiority in the Premier League, Norwich have won just two out of the last ten meetings between these two teams in all competitions.

Palace boss Alan Pardew has a good managerial record against Norwich, having beaten the Canaries on nine occasions from 16 meetings. The former-Newcastle boss has also picked-up five draws and lost just twice.

Team Selection And News

Palace are still without striker Marouane Chamakh who is injured, while Connor Wickham and Emmanuel Adebayor are major doubts, but midfielders Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur could return to the squad after injury.

Norwich have a relatively clean bill of health heading into this clash. Norwegian international midfielder Alexander Tettey has been ruled out through injury and Russell Martin is a slight injury doubt. The Canaries may start with the same eleven that started the win over Newcastle.

Possible Crystal Palace Team Selection

Hennessey, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare, Cabaye, Ledley, Zaha, Bolasie, Puncheon, Sako

Possible Norwich City Team Selection

Ruddy, Wisdom, Bennett, Klose, Olsson, Jarvis, Howson, O’Neil, Brady, Naismith, Mbokani

Match Prediction

Both teams head into this game on the back of positive results so will be keen to build on those decent results. Norwich seems to have built up some good momentum at a crucial time, while Palace’s draw at West Ham was impressive. I would back the draw in this clash.
