Crystal Palace hosts Southampton at Selhurst Park on Saturday in the Premier League, as both teams look to return to winnings ways after draws last time out.
Palace claimed a decent point at Everton in a 1-1 draw last time out in the Premier League. Liverpool-born centre-back Scott Dann opened the scoring on 76 minutes, before Romelu Lukaku equalised five minutes later.
The point was a hard-earned one, considering the side from Merseyside hit the woodwork three times. Due to the tight nature of the Premier League the draw moved the Eagles up to sixth position in the table.
The visitor’s inconsistent campaign continued last time out, as the Saints drew 1-1 with rock-bottom Aston Villa. Villa took a surprise first half lead through former-England defender Joleon Lescott. However Southampton equalised in the last 20 minutes through a goal from defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu, who struck his first ever Premier League goal.
The Saints have now failed to win any of their last three Premier League games. This game is a difficult one for the side from the south coast, as Palace seems to have just hit form and they will be determined to keep their place in the top-six.
Ronald Koeman’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City in their last away game to end a six match unbeaten run on their travels the Saints.

Facts And Figures

Southampton have had much the better of the 12 Premier League meetings, claiming eight wins with the other four games resulting in draws. Palace has never beaten Southampton in the Premier League.
At Selhurst Park the Saints have picked-up three wins and three games have resulted in draws.
There have been under 2.5 goals scored in five of Southampton’s last six Premier League games.
Scott Dann has now scored in consecutive away games for Palace and the goals have both came on Merseyside.

Team Selection & News

The home side will be able to welcome back Wilfried Zaha for this clash, as he missed the Everton game through suspension. He looks set to replace Mile Jedinak, with Yohan Cabaye playing in a less advanced role.
Palace’s only real injury concern is winger Bakary Sako, who has a hamstring problem. Alan Pardew may choose to make just one change to his line-up from the Everton game.
The visitors are still without long-term injury casualties ‘keeper Fraser Forster and centre-back Florin Gardos. Injury-prone forward Jay Rodriguez also looks set to miss out through injury. Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama is a doubt for the clash.

Possible Crystal Palace team line-up: Hennessy, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare, McArthur, Cabaye, Puncheon, Bolasie, Zaha, Wickham

Possible Southampton team line-up: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand, Clasie, Davis, Mane, Tadic, Ward-Prowse, Pelle

Crystal Palace v Southampton Match Prediction

The Eagles are on a decent run at the moment and they have to be favourites to win this game, even if their away form is better than their form on home soil. The visitors have been inconsistent and it is hard to know what sort of performance they will produce. For me Palace will just edge this clash.
