Crystal Palace hosts Sunderland at Selhurst Park on Monday night in the Premier League, as the visitors look for a rare away victory.
Last time out Crystal Palace won 2-1 at Liverpool, with centre-back Scott Dann scoring the winning goal in the 82nd minute. The win ended a run of three games without a win in the Premier League for the Eagles.
Palace are now well placed to launch an assault on the top six, as Alan Pardew’s side currently sit eight in the league, just two points behind fifth-placed Spurs in the table.
Sunderland suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Southampton last time out, with Dusan Tadic grabbing the only goal of the game. The Black Cats are now just one point above bottom of the table Villa and have still only collected one win this season.
Former-West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has a major challenge on his hands to keep the north east side in the Premier League. Big Sam has only ever suffered relegation once as a boss, very early in his career at Notts County, but his team will need to start picking-up wins very quickly to avoid that same fate this season.

Facts And Figures

There have only been four Premier League meetings between these two teams, with Palace claiming two wins, Sunderland winning once and one game resulting in a draw.
The games played at Selhurst Park in the Premier League have seen both teams pick-up a win apiece.
Sunderland has won just one of the last six meetings against Palace, but that win did come the last time these two teams met at Selhurst Park.
The Black Cats have lost six out of their last seven away games. They have also conceded two or more in six of their last seven away games in the top-flight.

Team News

The home side have a few injury problems heading into this clash. Strikers Dwight Gayle and Marouane Chamakh are both doubts for this clash, as is South Korean international winger Lee Chung-Yong.
However better news for the Eagles is that record-signing Connor Wickham made a return from injury from the bench last time out, but could start this one against his former club. Eagles boss Alan Pardew may choose to name an unchanged line-up though.
Sunderland heads to London with doubts over the fitness of full-back Adam Matthews, centre-back John O’Shea and combative midfielder Lee Cattermole. Sam Allardyce may go with a similar line-up to the one that started against Southampton, as the Black Cats produced a slightly improved performance from previous games.

Possible Crystal Palace team selection: Hennessey, Kelly, Dann, Delaney, Souare, McArthur, Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon, Sako, Bolasie

Possible Sunderland team selection: Pantilimon, Yedlin, Kaboul, Coates, Jones, M’Vila, Gomez, Johnson, Toivonen, Watmore, Fletcher

Crystal Palace v Sunderland Match Prediction

We cannot look past the home win in this clash, despite Palace not always being consistent at home. The Black Cats have looked poor at the back in recent games and the Eagles have a number of dangerous attacking players who can take advantage of any defensive slip-ups.
