Crystal Palace hosts West Brom at Selhurst Park in the Premier League early kick-off on Saturday, looking to build on a promising start to their campaign.
Palace ended a two game losing run in the league by winning 1-0 at Watford last time out, with a Yohan Cabaye spot-kick on 71 minutes enough to clinch maximum points. Prior to the win at Vicarage Road, the Eagles suffered 1-0 defeats against Tottenham and Manchester City.
However, a Capital One Cup win against Charlton, and the win against the Hornets seems to have got Alan Pardew’s side back on track this season. They are now seventh in the Premier League table.
Palace have won just one of their three Premier League home games this season, but will be looking to improve that record against a stubborn Baggies team.
The visitors have endured an inconsistent campaign so far, and last time out suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Everton, despite being two goals up early in the second half. The second period defensive collapse is out of character for former-Palace boss Tony Pulis’ sides though.
The Baggies had previously kept three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League, and are particularly solid at the back, but have endured key injuries in defence of late.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have only met six times in the Premier League, with both teams claiming two wins each and the other two games ending in a draw.
The Premier League record at Selhurst Park has saw the Eagles pick-up two victories and the Baggies winning once.
West Brom have won just two of the last ten meetings in all competitions, but one of those wins came when these two teams last meet at Selhurst Park last season.
The visitors have also kept clean sheets in five out of their last seven Premier League away games, including three this season.
There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Palace’s last three top-flight games. There have also been fewer than 2.5 goals in six out of the last seven West Brom away games in the Premier League.

Team News

Palace has a number of injury doubts heading into this clash. Connor Wickham, Joel Ward, Mile Jedinak, Damien Delaney and Marouane Chamakh are all doubts for the clash. Boss Alan Pardew may name the same starting-line-up from the one that won 1-0 at Watford.
West Brom is still without first choice goalkeeper Ben Foster, and Boaz Myhill will continue to deputise. Defenders Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson are both doubts for the clash. James Chester replaced Olsson against Everton, and may fill-in once again.

Possible Crystal Palace line-up: Hennessey, Kelly, Hangeland, Dann, Souare, Cabaye, Ledley, Puncheon, Sako, Bolasie, Gayle

Possible West Brom line-up: Myhill, Dawson, Chester, Brunt, Yacob, Fletcher, Morrison, McClean, Berahino, Rondon

Crystal Palace vs West Brom Match Prediction

Crystal Palace have to be favourites for the win this clash, but their home record is slightly unconvincing, so the bet to go for in this clash under 2.5 goals. The Baggies are usually solid in defence, despite losing key personnel of late.
Boss Tony Pulis will be determined for his side to return to their former-solid defensive displays after a poor defensive display against Everton, but that may mean the Baggies being less effective in attack.
