German Grand Prix Betting Tips And Preview 2016

by 30th July 2016

Betting tips for the German Grand Prix. Read our preview on the next race in the F1 season in Hockenheim. Can Lewis Hamilton continue his pursuit of the drivers championship title.

Lewis Hamilton continued his good form to storm into the lead leaving teammate Nico Rosberg in his wake. The German will now hope to get back into the thick of the action in his home Grand Prix. The German Grand Prix at the Hockenreimring in Hockenheim is all set to witness a standout contest when the action sets off on Sunday 31st of July.

A track for the connoisseurs!
Germany is the 12th stop on the F1 racing calendar this season and with both the top drivers relentless in their pursuit of success, the German GP promises plenty of excitement.

None of the current drivers have had much success in the German GP with Fernando Alonso (3 wins) and Lewis Hamilton (2) the closest to the top. Ferrari (22 wins) is the run-away leader in the constructors, while Mercedes & Williams (9 each) and McLaren (8) are the closest. Of course, Ferrari doesn’t look any closer to extending that winning streak this year!

The race alternates between Nurburgring GP circuit and the Hockenreimring. According to the schedule, the last year race was supposed to be held at the Nurburgring. But with both the circuits unable to host, the race was dropped from the calendar and makes a return to the calendar this year at Hockenheim.

No show in 2015!
There was no race in 2015, but Rosberg is the defending Champion here having won in 2014. The German will hope for fortune to smile on him this time around – especially when he is in dire need of a win to roar back to contention.

Hockenheim is one of the oldest circuits on the F1 calendar with the first race held back in 1926. The circuit length is 4.574 km and the total race length is 306.442 km over 67 laps.
A two horse race so far!

Hamilton is top of the Championship standings with 192 points and moved six points clear of his teammate Nico Rosberg (186 points) last time out. Ricciardo is the next in line but has just 115 points to his credit. In all fairness, it looks like Hamilton or Rosberg to win the title.

Mercedes are a long way ahead in the constructors’ standings with 378 points while Ferrari (224) and Red Bull Racing (223) are fighting for the second position. It will take more than a miracle for Mercedes to not win the title.

Will the home GP bring good fortune for Rosberg?
Current form puts Hamilton in the driving seat for victory. Even the bookies are heavily favouring the British driver’s win – there isn’t much value on a Hamilton victory.
Though his recent form hasn’t been great, Rosberg should make the most of the home comforts in this race and has to be a contender for the victory here. We could got got odds of 5/2 with William Hill before he took pole position from Hamilton but because he leads the line he is now .
Among others, Red Bull should be pushing for a podium finish and Max Verstappen at odds of  or Daniel Ricciardo at odds of are genuine options. Preference is for the exciting Verstappen who seems to have the edge on Ricciardo in race terms.

Betting tip for the German Grand Prix
We take Rosberg to get his head in from of Hamilton to really set up the battle for the drivers championship. The even money on offer with Ladbrokes seems a fair bet as he has just had the edge on his team mate.

As a saver bet back Verstappen to be on the podium at .
