Todays Top Tip

In the 14.40 at Thirsk we have a last time out beaten favourite Happy Call that we at BOUK should get his head in front this time round. Simon Crisford has made an excellent start to his trainer career and a little bit of greenness cost the colt last time and the operation will not just run HC for a handicap mark.

Current odds for Happy Call in the 14.40 at Thirsk is SP with Corals
Result: 2nd Happy Call missed the kick slightly but it was enough to lose the rails and ultimately that cost us the race. It is the third time the colt has now disappointed and for me – the last chance.

Next Best

We stay at Thirsk and head to the 16.10 for a frustrating sort in Woody Bay. If the gelding could break on terms he would win more than he does, however, I believe he is drawn well today and his staying power will nick a place at worst so a decent each way poke.

Current odds for Woody Bay in the 16.10 at Newbury is 5/1 with Corals
Result: Unplaced Woody Bay ran his race and I do not think the slower ground helped, however, as with TTT, now time to swerve.

Race to Watch

Monday afternoon is not the greatest racing on offer and the evening cards are not great today. So the 15.25 at Kempton is the maiden we are interested in today. As you would expect a decent turnout from the Newmarket trainers and we are tentatively selecting Parkour for Jeremy Noseda. Having had a run I think with normal improvement should see Parkour tough to beat. The one concern is the stable form, however, we are backing Parkour to turn that around.

Current odds for Parkour in the 15.25 at Kempton is SP with Corals
Result: Unplaced Unfortunately, Parkour confirmed our worst fears regarding the Noseda stable. Right there with a furlong to go, actually traded at 1.5 in running, the horse folded tamely to finish out of the frame – that is it from us for the stable until the horses show signs of finishing their races off.
