Horse Racing Tips At Brighton And Chepstow

Todays Top Tip

The NAP for Wednesday is Hulcolt in the Brighton feature at 15.20. The trainer Ivan Furtado is quickly establishing himself and this improving 4 year old Gelding looks certain to continue his excellent run. The race is very competitive but BOUK firmly believe that Hulcolt is still ahead of the handicapper. He has missed a few engagements recently due to the softish ground around the country which shows with the quick entries that he has come out of the Beverley race fit and well. There are dangers aplenty, which you would expect for such a decent prize, the best of which could be Pick A Little (loves Brighton!) and Pyrocumulus (stable form).

Current odds for Hulcolt in the 15.20 at Brighton is 3/1 with Corals
Result: 7th Unfortunately for us Hulcolt does not look as progressive as we hoped with the dangers in the race finishing 1st and 2nd and continuing their good runs.

Next Best

Heading to the 14.00 at Chepstow for the plus 10 maiden is the filly Sirajiah for William Haggas. Making her debut at Leicester on ground softer than ideal, Sirajiah was only run out of it in the final furlong when a touch of greenness and the ground told. The winner followed up next time and than ran a very credible 3rd at Ascot last Saturday in a class 1 event. On the better forecast going today and with the experience under her hoofs! BOUK expects the Haggas filly to beat the expected favourite Little Voice who is fast becoming a touch exposed and disappointing.

Current odds for Sirajiah in the 14.00 at Chepstow is 5/4 with Corals
Result: 2nd Although Sirajiah was beaten into 2nd by the tissue favourite (now heading to listed class) we at BOUK have no doubt that our pick will prove to be the better horse in the long run, unfortunately, the winner proved just a little bit more streetwise at the business end.

Race to Watch

Wednesday’s race to watch is the 14.20 race at Brighton. This maiden only has 6 runners but it could be a decent race to follow with Godolphin having 2 in the race and other runners from the Andrew Balding, Mark Johnston, Sir Mark Prescott and Michael Stoute yards. Giving a tip here is a little tricky, however, BOUK understand that the colt Burmese Whisper has learned plenty from his debut and with only 5 opponents should most definitely give a much better showing today – with a tissue price of 14/1 he will definitely offer great value. First time out at Chepstow BW missed the kick but then travelled up very well in mid division until running green when pressure was applied 2 furlongs out. BW was not unduly worked and was allowed to come home in his own time.

Current odds for Burmese Whisper in the 14.20 at Brighton is 25/1 with Corals
Result: 3rd I think we picked the best race to follow today as Mansfield could prove to be very useful indeed for Charlie Appleby. Our token selection Burmese Whisper was just run out of a place in 3rd and most definitely improved considerably from its debut and out run its large odds. A little legless in the final furling BW could well benefit by a drop back to 6 furlongs at this early stage of its career.
