Who says an F1 dominated by a single team is boring! Look at this year’s action – Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton are setting the track ablaze with their on-field rivalry and still there is so much to look forward to! We head into this weekend at Hungary with a realistic chance of Hamilton overtaking his teammate in the Drivers’ Championship. No wonder then that F1 enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the action to start.

Don’t count the track out!
Hungary is the 11th stop on the racing calendar this year and is bound to be a turning point in the race to the Championship.

Lewis Hamilton has great memories of this track sharing most number of wins (4) here with the legendary Michael Schumacher. McLaren have the most number of victories among constructors (11) while Williams (7) and Ferrari (6) are close behind.

The Hungary Grand Prix has had many distinctions in its history – it was the first Formula One race to be held behind the ‘Iron Curtain’. Until 2016 it was the only Grand Prix that had never seen a wet race and it was the first F1 event to host 200,000 people.

2015 was a thriller!
Last year’s action in Hungary was a spectacle for everyone with Sebastian Vettel easing Ferrari to the winner’s podium. Behind him, Danii Kvyat scored his first F1 podium with Red Bull while Daniel Ricciardo completed a grand podium finish day for Red Bull.

The action was one for the record books with Hamilton starting on the pole and dropping to 10th on lap one eventually coming home in sixth. Nico Rosberg too had a race to forget with the German clashing with Ricciardo late in the day and dropping to eighth.

The circuit was built in 1936 and measures 4.381 km. The total race distance is 306.663 km over 70 laps. Ricciardo holds the fastest lap record at the circuit.

The season is just about to explode!
It has largely been Rosberg versus Hamilton in this year’s Championship race with the German and the Brit desperate to not yield an inch to the other. Hamilton’s victory at his home British Grand Prix takes him to 167 points and just a point behind the leader.

Rosberg still leads the table with 168 points but his illegal assistance via radio in Britain cost him a place. Ricciardo continues to be a threat and is fourth in the Drivers’ standings.
Constructors’ standings reflect the drivers’ standings with Mercedes leading the pack at 335 points, Ferrari (204) and Red Bull (198) following way behind.

Can Hamilton continue his streak?
Hamilton is the hot favourite to clinch his third successive Grand Prix win. Odds of Evs with Betfred illustrates just how fancied he is to claim a victory in this one.
Rosberg will look to stop his teammate and at odds of 7/2 with William Hill the German is a far second to Hamilton.
Vettel is the defending champion and should look to come into contention for a podium finish – odds of 9/4 with Skybet – despite his topsy-turvy form this season. Of the rest, watch out for Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.
