Irish 2000 Guineas Racing Tips Saturday 21st May 2016

by 21st May 2016

We have five tips for you this Saturday across several meeting during the day.

After yesterdays quantity over quality we have a cracking days racing today with grade one tracks aplenty in the UK and the Curragh hosting the Irish Guineas festival.

Main races and selections (5 of) previewed below:

14.15 Listed
The Paul Cole stable are in eye watering form with winners galore on Friday in both the UK and France so Berkshire has to be taken very seriously despite the long absence. In the event of Berkshire not firing after the break then Decorated Knight is taken to win its first race over the mile distance.

14.50 Listed
Todays first selection runs here and it is Bateel for the Simcock stable who are in decent nick. 2nd first time out this season behind a stable mate I expect that run to have put B spot on.

13.55 Class 3
The Ed Dunlop stable have had almost as many winners already this season as they had in the last and Red Vernon looks a really progressive stayer and is our second selection of the day.

15.40 Listed
Very interesting race with the Wokingham winner, Interception, making its seasonal reappearance in this contest for the second year. Interception was 2nd last year. However, I cannot see Interception being fully tuned up for this with Royal Ascot surely being the target so I fancy Imtiyaaz for today.

16.10 Group 2
14 runners to post for this ultra competitive Group 2 sprint. Goldream has to carry the Group 1 penalty and would need to show more. Meccas Angel will be quite short, but Waady is my idea of the winner.

17.20 Class 3
The second of our selections at Haydock runs in this and it is King of Naples for the Fanshawe team. Improvement is undoubtedly needed but I think KoN only has to beat Rosenborg Rider and they are the 2 least exposed horses in the race.

Recommended Betting Tip

Back Red Vernon in the 13.55 Haydock – Best odds of 11/8 with Betfred

Recommended Betting Tip

Back King of Naples in the 17.20 Haydock – Best odds of 7/2 with Betfred

15.30 Listed
Only the 4 runners (assuming Algometer is not turned out again) and I cannot see Linguistic being beaten.
I really like this card today so will comment on the first 6 races with 2 main selections in the 14.40 and 16.55:

14.05 – There is a distinct possibility that the market will under value the chances of Cornwallville in this for the very in form David Loughnane.

14.40 – We put up Moonrise Landing when she won at the All Weather Championships and I see no reason not to go in again.

15.15 – Walpole was still as green as grass last time out but managed to double up and improvement is still plentiful.

15.50 – The Simcock runner Doctor Sardonicus made a very satisfactory return at this venue on May 12th and under Spencer can some home in front today.

16.20 – Kevin Ryan likes to introduce some of his decent 2 year olds at this track so Broken Stones again under Jamie Spencer is taken to get the better of Masham Star.

16.55Secret Sense is put up to give us a Beckett double on the card. Secret Sense finished an excellent 2nd to the impressive Goodwood winner Persuasive in November and returned in April to win on seasonal debut.

Coral Bookmakers

Back Moonrise Landing in the 14.40 York – Best odds of 2/1 with Coral

16.30 Listed
Difficult contest with plenty of debutant winners on show. Ryan Moore has chosen Caravaggio of the 4 Coolmore entrants so has to be respected, but I think Ready to Roc for the Murtagh stable also won at Dundalk on debut and he is the selection.

17.05 Group 2
Richard Fahey loves to raid in Ireland and Don’t Touch can keep the unbeaten record.

17.40 2000 Guineas
What to make of Air Force Blue? ran no race in the English equivalent and I am not convinced the champion 2 year old has trained on, although he would not be the first O’Brien runner to bounce straight back. Galileo Gold is going for the Guineas double so has to be given maximum respect but I believe Blue De Vega is over priced at around 11/1.

18.15 Group 2
Tough puzzle to solve with Lucida having such an absence and not wanting any rain, so, with the stable in such flying form Ainippe is the selection.[/vc_column_text]
