Kick Off – 17.30pm Saturday 7th May 2016 – Live on SKY Sports 1

Leicester host Everton at the King Power Stadium in Saturday’s late kick-off in the Premier League, as the home side celebrate being crowned champions on Monday night.

Claudio Ranieri’s side drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. Anthony Martial opened the scoring for the Red Devils, but Wes Morgan equalised.

The Foxes were reduced to ten men late-on, as Danny Drinkwater was shown a red card, but earned a point. Tottenham’s failure to beat Chelsea on Monday night meant the Foxes have been crowned English for the first time in their history.

Everton ended a poor run of form in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at Goodison Park last time out. Former-Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley opened the scoring early on for the Toffees, but their lead was short-lived as Marc Pugh hit back for the Cherries.

However, Roberto Martinez’s team secured a much-needed win courtesy of a strike from England full-back Leighton Baines in the last 20 minutes.

The win means that Everton are 11th in the Premier League and the speculation over the future of boss Martinez rumbles on.

Facts And Figures

The 19 Premier League meetings between these two teams have been relatively even, as Everton have recorded four wins, Leicester have won twice and 13 games have finished in draws.

The nine Premier League fixtures at Leicester have been a similar story, as six games have been drawn, Everton have won twice and Leicester have won just once.

Seven of the last ten meetings between these two teams have resulted in draws, although the Foxes won the reverse fixture to claim their only win in those ten matches.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has a good record against Everton, recording six wins from nine meetings, as well as suffering just one defeat and also picking-up two draws.

Everton have won just one of their last eight matches in the Premier League, although that win was in their last game against Bournemouth.

Everton have failed to win any of the last four Premier League away games and have won just three of their last 13 outings on the road in the top-flight. The Toffees have also failed to score in three of their last four away games on their travels in the league.

Team Selection And News

Leicester will welcome back top scorer Jamie Vardy from suspension and he is likely replace Leonardo Ulloa up front. Midfielder Danny Drinkwater is suspended following his red card against United and is likely to be replaced by Andy King.

Everton boss Martinez made a number of changes last time out and may name a similar team to the one that started against Bournemouth, although Romelu Lukaku is likely to return up front in place Oumar Niasse.

Ramiro Funes Mori will miss out through suspension, while Seamus Coleman, Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka and Gerard Deulofeu are also doubts for the Toffees.

Possible Leicester City Team Selection

Schmeichel, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Kante, King, Schlupp, Okazaki, Vardy

Possible Everton Team Selection

Robles, Besic, Pennington, Stones, Baines, McCarthy, Gibson, Lennon, Barkley, Cleverley, Lukaku

Match Prediction

This game will be Leicester’s first as champions and last home game of the campaign and I expect them to record a victory over an Everton side with nothing to play for this season.
