Leicester take on West Ham at the King Power Stadium in one of the Premier League early kick-offs on Sunday, as both teams look for vital victories.

Premier League leaders Leicester took another step to clinching the league title last time out with a 2-0 win at relegation-threatened Sunderland. The win put the Foxes ten points clear at the top of the Premier League.

England international Jamie Vardy scored a brace in that win in the north east, as he became the first Foxes player to score 20-plus goals in a top-flight campaign in over 30 years. The former-Halifax star now has 21 Premier League goals for the campaign.

West Ham were involved in an entertaining 3-3 draw with third-place Arsenal last time out, with Andy Carroll grabbing a hat-trick, with the Hammers also having two other efforts disallowed. The draw did little for their Champions League ambitions this season.

The draw coupled with Manchester City’s win against West Brom in the evening kick-off on Saturday means that the Irons are now five points behind the Citizens who occupy fourth spot.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met 17 times in the Premier League, with West Ham recording ten wins. Leicester have also claimed five wins and two games have finished in draws.

The eight Premier League meetings at Leicester have seen both teams claim three wins each and two games finish in draws.

Leicester have won the last three games between these two in all competitions, having failed to beat the Hammers in the previous seven meetings.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has faced Leicester twice in his managerial career and suffered defeat in both games.

West Ham have drawn their last four games in all competitions, three of those draws coming in the Premier League. The Irons are now unbeaten in six outings in the Premier League.

The side from the East End have been prolific in recent Premier League games, scoring two or more goals in five of their last six outings.

Leicester have kept seven clean sheets in eight of their last Premier League games at home.

Team Selection And News

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri nicknamed ‘The Tinkerman’ has named a very stable starting line-up for the majority of the campaign and looks set to do so once again. Midfielder Matthew James once again looks set to miss out due to a lack of match fitness.

The Hammers have a few problems at the back with centre-back James Collins and full-back Sam Byram both doubts, Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho is a doubt, but is expected to recover in time to feature.

Possible Leicester Team Selection

Schmeichel, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy

Possible West Ham Team Selection

Adrian, Tomkins, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Kouyate, Antonio, Lanzini. Payet, Carroll

Match Prediction

This clash is a vital one for both teams. West Ham have been in decent form of late, but are struggling to win games. Leicester have been grinding out results and I believe they are likely to win this clash as well.
