Liverpool hosts West Brom at the Hawthorns on Sunday in the Premier League, looking to bounce back from a shock defeat last time out.
Liverpool suffered a surprising 2-0 defeat at struggling Newcastle last time out in the Premier League. Martin Skrtel rather unfortunately put the ball past his own ‘keeper to give the Magpies the lead, before Dutch star Georginio struck the second in injury-time.
The defeat has brought Reds fans back down to earth after a good run of form under charismatic German boss Jurgen Klopp. The men from Merseyside had scored ten goals in their previous two away games and looked potent up front. It also ended Liverpool’s four match winning run and brought Klopp his second league defeat as Liverpool boss.
West Brom drew 1-1 with Tottenham at the Hawthorns last time out. Tottenham took the lead through young midfielder Dele Alli, before James McClean equalised with his first ever Premier League goal.
The draw means that the Baggies are now unbeaten in three Premier League games and are currently 13th in the table, six points clear off the relegation zone and seven points off fifth spot.

Facts And Figures

Liverpool has had the better of the 18 Premier League games between these two teams, having won 12 of the games played. West Brom has claimed four wins and two games have resulted in draws.
Liverpool has dominated the nine games at Anfield, winning seven of the games played, with West Brom claiming two wins.
West Brom has won just one of the last six meetings in all competitions between the two sides.
There have been under 2.5 goals scored in West Brom’s last seven away games in the Premier League.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis has a mixed record against Liverpool, having faced the Merseysiders 14 times. He has claimed three wins, seven draws and suffered four defeats. Opposite number Jurgen Klopp has unsurprisingly never faced the Baggies as a boss.

Team Selection & News

Liverpool still has major doubts over the fitness of Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who has now missed the last four games with a hamstring injury. Joe Gomez and Danny Ings both have long-term injury problems while defenders Jon Flanagan and Mamadou Sakho are also expected to miss out through injury.
England striker Daniel Sturridge may be drafted back into the starting line-up in place of Belgian striker Christian Benteke for this clash. Emre Can is also available again after suspension.
First choice ‘keeper Ben Foster remains sidelined through a long-term injury and Boaz Myhill will continue to deputise for the former-Birmingham star. Attacking midfielder Stephane Sessegnon is a slight doubt for the clash. Claudio Yacob is back from suspension and could come in for Jonas Olsson, with Chris Brunt switching to left-back.

Possible Liverpool team line-up: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Can, Milner, Ibe, Firmino, Lallana, Sturridge

Possible West Brom team line-up: Myhill, Dawson, Evans, McAuley, Brunt, Yacob, Fletcher, McClean, Morrison, Berahino, Rondon

Liverpool v West Brom Match Prediction

Liverpool failed to score against Newcastle last time out and face a stubborn West Brom team, who away from home are a very solid defensive unit. However I do believe that the Reds should have enough in their attacking armoury to claim the win, but it will not be easy.
