Last day of the season see’s Manchester United play hosts to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday in the Premier League, as the home side look to record a win that would keep them in the chase for a top four spot this season.

Manchester United suffered a major blow in their pursuit of a top-four spot this season. The Red Devils slipped to a 3-2 defeat at West Ham in the Hammers last ever game at the Boleyn Ground.

The Hammers took the lead in the first half through a deflected strike from Diafra Sakho. However, things were looking good in the second half for United, as French international Anthony Martial scored twice.

There was more to come though, as in the last 20 minutes goals from Michail Antonio and Winston Reid consigned United to defeat.

The Red Devils will head into this game two points behind arch-rivals Manchester City in the race for fourth spot. They will now need City to slip-up in their final game away at Swansea to have any chance of making the Champions League spots.

The visitors ended a three-match losing run last time out by drawing 1-1 at home against West Brom. The Baggies went ahead through a goal from Venezuelan international striker Salomon Rondon.

However, the Cherries scored a late equaliser through Scotland international midfielder Matt Ritchie to rescue a point. The side from Dorset cannot now finish lower than 16th in the Premier League table.

Over 2.5 goals looks a great bet and Unibet go 5/7

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met just once in the Premier League, which came in the reverse fixture and ended in a 2-1 win for the Cherries.

These two teams have actually only met on nine occasions in all competitions, with United recording five wins, there being two draws and Bournemouth winning once.

United have recorded four wins out of four meetings with the Cherries in the meetings at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth have suffered five defeats in their last seven Premier League outings, winning just once in the process.

However Eddie Howe’s side have suffered just two defeats in their last ten away trips in the Premier League. There has also been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine away games.

Team Selection And News

Full-back Luke Shaw and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger remain sidelined through injury for United, while midfielder Marouane Fellaini is suspended. Italian full-back Matteo Darmian is also a major doubt.

The visitor’s injury problems are now confined to their defence, as Adam Smith, Sylvain Distin and Tyrone Mings are all likely to miss this clash through injury. Cherries boss Howe may go with the same eleven that started the draw with West Brom.

Possible Manchester United Team Selection

De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Lingard, Rooney, Mata, Martial, Rashford

Possible Bournemouth Team Selection

Boruc, Francis, Elphick, Cook, Daniels, Stanislas, Surman, Arter, Gradel, Grabban, Afobe

Match Prediction

I see United bouncing back from that defeat last time out with a victory in this clash. The Red Devils will be desperate to record a victory and the visitors have very little to play for in this clash.
