Manchester United v Southampton Preview | Premier League
Manchester United host Southampton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Friday night, as the home side look to make it two wins out of two in the top-flight this season.

The Red Devils opened their Premier League campaign under Jose Mourinho with a win at Bournemouth and they are favourites to claim a second win in this clash at odds of 1/2 with Betfair.

Last Sunday United coasted to a comfortable 3-1 win at Bournemouth in their opening game of the campaign. Juan Mata opened the scoring in the first half, with Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic adding a goal apiece in the second period.

The Red Devils have a good overall record against Southampton, winning 23 of the 34 meetings between the two teams in the Premier League. United also have a good home record against the Saints at Old Trafford in the Premier League, winning 13 times and drawing twice.

However, Southampton have recorded two wins at Old Trafford, which have come in their last two visits to Old Trafford, both in the shape of 1-0 victories.

The recent clashes between the pair have been tight, with two wins apiece and two draws from the last six meetings.
United boss Jose Mourinho has faced the Saints on seven previous occasions, winning four, drawing two and losing just once. Southampton boss Claude Puel has faced United on four occasions, winning once drawing once and losing twice.

Southampton started life under new boss Claude Puel with a disappointing 1-1 draw with Watford at St Marys and are odds of 13/2 at  to claim a third consecutive win at United.

Last time the Saints went behind through an effort from midfielder Etienne Capoue, before summer signing Nathan Redmond scored the equaliser and prior to Ben Watson being dismissed for the visitors.

The Saints will take heart from those recent victories in Manchester, but will know that this trip could be a very difficult one after United’s good start to the campaign.

United look set to give a debut to world record signing Paul Pogba, who missed the opening game through suspension and he could replace Ander Herrera in the centre of midfield. Chris Smalling is also available after suspension, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Jesse Lingard is a doubt, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan may also have to settle for a place on the United bench.
For Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand is a doubt, so if he fails to recover then Matt Targett will continue at full-back. Portuguese centre-back Jose Fonte may return to the centre of the Saints defence. Puel decided to field a 4-4-2 midfield diamond against Watford, but may choose to go with a more defensive formation at Old Trafford.

Possible Manchester United team line-up: De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Blind, Shaw, Fellaini, Pogba, Mata, Rooney, Martial, Ibrahimovic
Possible Southampton team line-up: Forster, Cedric, Van Dijk, Fonte, Targett, Romeu, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Redmond, Long

BOUK Betting Tip for Manchester United v Southampton
Manchester United looked impressive against Bournemouth, despite never looking at their best. The Southampton players look to still be getting to grips with their new boss, so this will be a United win for me.
