Newcastle hosts Everton at St James Park in the Boxing Day Premier League evening kick-off with both trying to find their top form.
Newcastle drew 1-1 with Aston Villa at St James Park last time out. The Magpies took the lead through centre-back Fabricio Coloccini in the first half, before the Villans equalised in the second half through Jordan Ayew.
The draw means that the Magpies are now three games unbeaten in the Premier League, but Steve McClaren’s team are not quite clear of the relegation zone just yet, as they remain 17th place just two points ahead of 18th place Swansea.
Everton suffered their first defeat in eight games last time out, as they suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Premier League leaders Leicester. The Foxes took the lead through a Riyad Mahrez penalty, only for Romelu Lukaku to grab an equaliser.
However, the visitors re-took the lead through a second spot-kick by Mahrez in the second half. Japanese striker Okazaki then extended the Foxes lead. Kevin Mirallas got a second goal for the Toffees, but Leicester held on to a valuable win.
One positive for the Toffees is that Lukaku has scored in eight consecutive games in all competitions, including in his last seven games in the Premier League.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez will be disappointed that his side have not won any of their last four Premier League games. The side from Merseyside currently occupy 10th place in the top-flight.

Newcastle v Everton Match Prediction

Everton are the Premier League draw specialists this season and I think this game will be no different. The Magpies have been inconsistent of late, but they are not completely bereft of confidence and should have enough to secure a draw in this clash.
