Last time out in the Premier League Newcastle were hammered 5-1 at Crystal Palace, as James McArthur and Yannick Bolasie scored a brace each with Wilfried Zaha also getting on the scoresheet.
The result meant that the Magpies have now suffered consecutive league defeats and it saw the north east side slump to 19th in the Premier League table. To add insult to injury north east rivals Sunderland leapfrogged them out of the relegation zone.
Alongside Bournemouth, Newcastle have the worst defensive record in the top-flight this season and a game against an in-form Liverpool side is definitely not what they need.
Liverpool has started to shine under German boss Jurgen Klopp. The Reds defeated Swansea City 1-0 at Anfield last time out, with a James Milner penalty enough to clinch victory. The win moved the side from Merseyside up to sixth in the Premier League table.
Klopp’s side are now just four points off that lucrative fourth spot in the league and in current form will be confident of a victory on Tyneside.

Newcastle v Liverpool Match Prediction

Newcastle has been woeful form in recent weeks and it is hard to see the Magpies getting anything from this clash. Liverpool just seems to be hitting form under their new boss and with a number of key players returning from injury should claim maximum points at St James Park.
