Newcastle hosts reigning Premier League champions Chelsea at St James Park in the late Premier League kick-off on Saturday.
The home side have made an awful start to the campaign and have continued from where they left off from last season. The Magpies have failed to win any of their Premier League games this season so far and have collected just two points.
Steve McClaren’s side currently sit second from bottom in the table, after losing 2-1 at home against Watford last time out. Odion Ighalo scored a brace in the first half for the Hornets. Full-back Daryl Janmaat scored in the second half, but it turned out to be in vein as the Magpies suffered a third consecutive league defeat.
Chelsea’s poor run of form in the Premier League finished last weekend, as the Blues defeated Arsenal 2-0, after the Gunners had Gabriel and Santi Cazorla dismissed. Jose Mourinho’s team won the game courtesy of a goal from Kurt Zouma and a deflected Eden Hazard effort.
Despite the win Chelsea are still in the bottom half of the Premier League table and are a massive eight points behind league leaders Manchester City. The win against Arsenal should kick-start their season though and the Blues looked more like the team that sauntered to the title last season.
The Magpies look to be the perfect opponents for the Blues to continue their mini-revival.

Newcastle vs Chelsea Match Prediction

Both of these teams have struggled to find form this season, but the champions look to have gained some momentum with consecutive wins in the Champions League and Premier League.
Newcastle’s current form suggests the Blues can extend that winning run to three games in all competitions. An alternative would be to take a punt on the over 2.5 goals in this clash.
