Struggling Norwich hosts Liverpool at Carrow Road on Saturday in the early Premier League kick-off, with both sides looking to get their seasons back on track with a victory in this clash.
Norwich poor run of recent form continued on Saturday, as the Canaries suffered a 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Goals from Dan Gosling, Charlie Daniels and Benik Afobe helped the Cherries secure a vital win.
The defeat leaves Norwich perilously close to the relegation zone in 16th position in the Premier League table, just two points clear of the drop zone.
The visitors suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat last time out against Manchester United, with Wayne Rooney grabbing the only goal of the game. The Reds had a number of efforts on goal, but a mixture of poor finishing and the brilliance of United ‘keeper David de Gea denied the Reds a share of the points.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are now eight points off fourth spot and their inconsistent form will be a major concern for everybody connected with the Merseyside club. The Reds will fancy their chances of recording maximum points from this clash though, as they have enjoyed a lot of joy at Carrow Road in recent years.

Facts And Figures

Liverpool has dominated Premier League fixtures between these two teams, recording ten wins from 15 encounters. Norwich has claimed two wins and three games have resulted in draws.
It is a similar story in the seven Premier League meetings at Carrow Road, Liverpool recording five wins, while Norwich have claimed just one win and one game has been drawn.
Liverpool has won eight of the last ten Premier League meetings between the two teams, with the other two games resulting in draws. The Reds have scored 15 goals in their last five visits to Norfolk.
Norwich may be on a poor run of form, but they are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games at Carrow Road.
There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Norwich’s last six Premier League games at home, so it is fair to say they have not been enthralling at Carrow Road of late.

Team Selection & News

Norwich have a relatively clean bill of health, but midfielder Gary O’Neil is suspended and on-loan full-back Andre Wisdom is eligible to play against his parent club. Austrian defender Timm Klose could make his Canaries debut at centre-back.
Liverpool still has a number of players missing through injury. Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Martin Skrtel, Philippe Coutinho, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge all look set to miss out once again. Jon Flanagan and Dejan Lovren could still make the game though, as both look to return from injury.

Possible Norwich team line-up: Rudd, Martin, Klose, Bassong, Brady, Odjidja-Ofoe, Tettey, Howson, Jarvis, Hoolahan, Mbokani

Possible Liverpool team line-up: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Sakho, Moreno, Milner, Can, Ibe, Henderson, Lallana, Firmino

Norwich v Liverpool Match Prediction

Neither of these two sides are on great runs of form of late and it’s a hard game to predict. Norwich’s form has been terrible in recent weeks and Liverpool in the midst of an injury crisis. I have a feeling that this game could end in a draw.
