Struggling Norwich host Manchester United at Carrow Road in the Premier League early kick-off on Saturday, with both teams in desperate need of points.

Norwich slipped to 19th place in the Premier League table on Saturday after suffering a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal. Gunners substitute Danny Welbeck scored the only goal of the game to consign the Canaries to a consecutive top-flight defeat.

All is not lost for Alex Neil’s side though, as they are only a point behind 18th placed Sunderland and two points away from the safety of Newcastle in 17th place. However, the Canaries need to find some fighting spirit from somewhere to avoid the dreaded drop to the Championship.

Manchester United drew 1-1 with Leicester at Old Trafford last time out in the Premier League. The Red Devils dominated the opening exchanges and French striker Anthony Martial volleyed home the opening goal.

However, the Foxes hit back on 17 minutes, as Wes Morgan headed home from a Danny Drinkwater free-kick. Drinkwater was sent-off late-on for a second bookable offence.

The Red Devils could not take the initial with an extra man and could only claim a point in the end. The draw leaves Louis van Gaal’s side fifth in the table, but just four points behind fourth-place Manchester City with a game in-hand on the Citizens.

Facts And Figures

Manchester United have dominated the 15 Premier League meetings between these two teams, recording 11 wins, while Norwich have won three times and one game has resulted in a draw.

The seven Premier League meetings at Carrow Road have seen five United wins and two wins for the home side.

Manchester United have won seven of the last ten meetings between these two teams in all competitions, but the Canaries won the last meeting in the reverse fixture in December.

Norwich have lost their last three games in the Premier League and failed to score in all three defeats. The Canaries have also won just one of their last seven home games in the top-flight.

United have lost three out of their last four away games in the Premier League. In fact the Red Devils have won just two of their last ten away games in the top-flight.

Team Selection And News

The home side have a couple of injury worries heading into this vital clash. Defenders Timm Klose and Andre Wisdom are ruled out through injury, as is midfielder Emmanuel Tettey, while centre-back Ryan Bennett is also a doubt.

The visitors do not have any fresh injury worries, but full-back Luke Shaw and central midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger are expected to miss the rest of the campaign through injury.

Match Prediction

Norwich have struggled to pick-up anything in recent weeks and look to be heading for the Championship, while United’s form has not been terrible of late. Norwich are likely to battle, but United should record a win this clash.
