Southampton hosts Everton at St Marys in the Premier League early kick-off on Saturday.
The Saints kicked-off the new Premier League campaign with an entertaining 2-2 draw at Southampton. The team from the south coast came back from 2-1 down to rescue a point with a goal in the 79th minute from substitute Shane Long.
Graziano Pelle had given the Saints the lead after 24 minutes, before goals from Papiss Cisse and Georginio Wijnaldum put the Magpies 2-1 up. The game saw the return to action of England international Jay Rodriguez, who had been out of action with a long-term injury.
Everton also kicked-off their top-flight campaign off with a 2-2 draw, as Watford claimed a point at Goodison Park. The Toffees came within a few minutes of defeat before substitute Arouna Kone’s goal gave Roberto Martinez’s side a point with just five minutes remaining.
The Spaniard will be glad to have saw his team earn a point, but will know that the Toffees now face a difficult run of fixtures, including this one at St Mary’s.

Facts And Figures

Southampton have a good record at St Marys in the Premier League and have won their last five league games on home soil.

Southampton are likely to start this game with an unchanged starting line-up from last time out. The only change may be that Shane Long is given an opportunity to impress on the flanks.

Everton also have a relatively long injury list as well. Leighton Baines, Darron Gibson, Steven Pienaar, Aiden McGeady and Mohamed Besic will all miss out through injury, while Gerard Deulofeu and Kevin Mirallas are also doubts.
