Southampton hosts Stoke at St Marys on Saturday in the Premier League, as the hosts look to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Southampton are now unbeaten in seven Premier League games, having won 1-0 at struggling Sunderland last time out through a goal from attacking midfielder Dusan Tadic. The win left Ronald Koeman’s side in seventh position in the Premier League table, just six points off league leaders Manchester City.
Italian striker Graziano Pelle has been in superb form this season, scoring six times and producing five assists in the Premier League. The Italian may have his work cut-out breaking through a stubborn Stoke defence though. Senegal winger Sadio Mane will also be looking to add to his three goals and five assists on the Premier League this season.
Stoke are 12th in the Premier League table and last time out the Potters claimed a 1-0 win over reigning Premier League champions Chelsea with Austrian winger Marko Arnautovic scoring the only goal.
The game once again displayed Mark Hughes’ team’s defensive solidarity, as they claimed another clean sheet. That defensive solidarity will be put to the test by the likes of Pelle, Dusan Tadic and Sadio Mane at St Marys though.

The home side has a few injury problems heading into this clash. Fraser Forster remains on the long-term casualty list and Maarten Stekelenburg will continue to deputise for the former-Celtic ‘keeper.
Romanian centre-back Florin Gardos is also a long-term injury problem for the Saints. Elsewhere strikers Jay Rodriguez and Shane Long are both doubts, as is Dutch international centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
The visitors have a relatively clean bill of health. Veteran ‘keeper Shay Given is expected to once again miss out through a knee injury, while Spanish centre-back Marc Muniesa is also expected to miss this clash through a thigh problem.

Southampton v Stoke City Match Prediction

This game has the potential to be a very tight one. Stoke have a stubborn defence and the Saints have been involved in low scoring games of late. My prediction is that Southampton will claim a narrow victory.
