Southampton hosts West Brom at St Marys on Saturday in the Premier League, as the hosts look to build on a win last time out.
Southampton ended a poor run of form in the Premier League of late with a 2-0 defeat of Watford on Wednesday night. Shane Long opened the scoring and Dusan Tadic added a second to secure maximum points for the Saints.
The victory sees Southampton 12th position in the Premier League and the team from the south coast will now look to push up the table.
West Brom claimed a 2-2 draw at Chelsea last time out. Chelsea took the lead, before Craig Gardner equalised. Baggies defender Gareth McAuley put through his own net, only for winger James McClean to equalise with just four minutes left on the clock.
The draw means that the Baggies are 13th in the Premier League table, only below the Saints on goal difference.

Facts And Figures

The 11 Premier League games between these two teams have been pretty even. West Brom has recorded four wins, while Southampton has won three times and four games have resulted in draws.
Southampton has slightly edged the five games at St Marys, recording two wins. West Brom has claimed one win and two games have been drawn.
West Brom has claimed just one win from the last ten top-flight meetings between these two teams.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has failed to record a victory over the Baggies, having faced the Midlands side on three occasions, losing once and collecting two draws.
West Brom has failed to win any of their last five games on their travels in the top-flight.
The Baggies have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight meetings with Southampton in all competitions.
There have been under 2.5 goals scored in five of Southampton’s last six Premier League games at St Marys.

Team Selection & News

Southampton are still without the injured Florin Gardos and Jay Rodriguez, while goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is also a doubt. The Dutchman was unlikely to start anyway in goal, as first choice Fraser Forster returned from long-term injury last time out.
Victor Wanyama is available again, but may have to be content with a place on the bench. Serbian playmaker Dusan Tadic is likely to start in place of Matthew Targett. Graziano Pelle could return up front with Shane Long moving to the wing to replace Ward-Prowse.
The visitors have a relative clean bill of health heading to the south coast, with only midfielder James Morrison and striker Victor Anichebe doubts for the game. The Baggies could name an unchanged line-up to the one that drew at Chelsea.

Possible Southampton team line-up: Forster, Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand, Romeu, Clasie, Mane, Tadic, Long, Pelle

Possible West Brom team line-up: Myhill, Evans, Olsson, McAuley, Dawson, Yacob, McClean, Morrison, Fletcher, Brunt, Rondon

Southampton v West Brom Match Prediction

The home win against Watford last time out could be a season changer for the Saints and I can see Koeman’s men claiming a win in a low-scoring encounter, as neither team tend to be prolific in front of goal or defensively weak either.
