Sunderland host Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light on Saturday in the Premier League in a crucial game near the bottom of the table.
Sunderland’s mini-revival came to a screaming halt at Tottenham on Saturday, as the Black Cats suffered a 4-1 defeat. Dutch full-back Patrick van Aanholt scored in his third consecutive league game to give the visitors the lead.
However, Tottenham hit back soon afterwards through Christian Eriksen. The Dane later doubled his tally with Harry Kane and Mousa Dembele also scoring for the side from north London.
Once again the Black Cats were involved in a high-scoring game, but this time it was Sam Allardyce’s side that were on the end of a heavy defeat.
The defeat means that the north east side stay 19th position in the Premier League table and struggling to maintain their Premier League status.
Bournemouth ended a relative poor run of form with a 3-0 home win against Norwich last time out. Dan Gosling, Charlie Daniels and Benik Afobe scored the goals to give Eddie Howe’s side a pretty comprehensive victory.
The win could prove a vital one, as it moved the Cherries above the Canaries into 15th position in the Premier League table. New signing Afobe has proven a big hit with the Cherries fans, having opened his scoring account for his new team in just his second appearance.

Midfielder Matt Ritchie is a major doubt, while Benik Afobe, Joshua King, Lewis Grabban and Tokelo Rantie are all carrying injuries, but are expected to be fit to feature.

Sunderland games seem to produce goals galore at the moment and they face a Bournemouth side that are proving to be a highly competent top-flight side this season. For me the Cherries may just record a narrow win in this must not lose game for the home side.
