Relegation-threatened Sunderland hosts title-chasing Manchester City at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night, as the visitors look to a return to the top of the Premier League table.
Sunderland drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light last time out. Benik Afobe gave the Cherries the lead, before Patrick van Aanholt equalised just before half-time.
The draw coupled with other results means that Sam Allardyce’s side are 19th in the Premier League table, four points away from safety. A plus point to take from recent games is the scoring form of Van Aanholt, who has now scored four goals from his left-back this season.
Manchester City followed up a Capital one cup win over Everton with a 4-0 hammering of Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round, as Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho scored a hat-trick.
Last time out in the Premier League the Citizens drew 2-2 at West Ham, as two Sergio Aguero goals earned at point for Manuel Pellegrini’s team at the Boleyn Ground. The draw means that the Citizens are now three points behind league leaders Leicester City.

Sunderland v Manchester City Match Prediction

Manchester City’s away form has not been the most convincing this season, but they should be full of confidence having secured big back-to-back wins in the domestic cup competitions. Sunderland have been playing better of late, but I can see not look past Aguero and co. coming away from Wearside with all three points.
