Sunderland host West Ham at the Stadium of Light on Saturday in the Premier League, with the home side looking to pick-up their first league win of season.
The Black Cats have struggled this season, and picked-up just two points from their opening seven games this season. Their poor run of form has left Dick Advocaat’s side bottom of the table.
The side from the north east suffered their third consecutive defeat last time out, as they were beaten 3-0 at league leaders Manchester United. The game was also the third consecutive game that Sunderland has failed to score.
The visitors are currently enjoying a good run of form, and sit third in the Premier League table. However, the Hammers will be disappointed with their performance last time out, as they drew 2-2 with Norwich at the Boleyn Ground.
It seemed like Slaven Bilic’s side were heading for defeat until stoppage-time, when midfielder Cheick Kouyate rescued a draw with his third top-flight goal of the campaign.
The Hammers have been far more effective away from home this season, having won all three of their away games so far this season. They will be looking to keep up that 100 per cent away record in this clash.

Team News

Defender Adam Matthews is ruled for the Black Cats through injury and midfielder Jack Rodwell is a doubt for the clash. Striker Jermain Defoe missed out last time out through a minor knock, but should return to the squad for this clash. Defoe could replace Adam Johnson, and Fabio Borini could switch to the wing.
For the visitors midfielder Alex Song and striker Enner Valencia both have long-term injuries, while defenders Joey O’Brien and Angelo Ogbonna are doubts for the clash. Hammers boss Slaven Bilic may go with the same eleven that started the Norwich game.
