Swansea host Bournemouth at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League, with both sides on poor runs of form.
Swansea has won just one of their last eight games in the Premier League. Last time out the Swans suffered a 1-0 defeat at struggling Norwich. The defeat led to speculation that the Welsh club may be on the verge of sacking boss Garry Monk.
However, reports now claim the rookie boss will be given time turn things around at the Liberty Stadium. Monk is majorly in need of a win and Bournemouth seems like good opponents for a side in need of a win at the moment.
The Cherries have suffered four consecutive defeats in the Premier League and last time out suffered a 1-0 home defeat against fellow strugglers Newcastle. The defeat saw the Magpies leapfrog the Dorset outfit in the league and leaves Eddie Howe’s side 18th in the table.
A lack of goals has been the Cherries problem this season, as they have scored just 12 league goals this season. The loss of star striker Callum Wilson through long-term injury has cost them dearly of late.

Facts And Figures

Swansea have enjoyed the better of the six meetings of both teams in all competitions, winning four of the meetings, while Bournemouth have won one and one game has resulted in a draw.
At the Liberty Stadium, Swansea has won two games and Bournemouth has claimed a victory.
The Cherries only ever victory over the Swans came last time out, when the two teams met in the Championship back in 2008.
Bournemouth have suffered defeat in their last four away games in the Premier League and have claimed just one win on their travels in the top-flight.
The Cherries have also conceded two more goals in their last five away games in the Premier League.

Team News

Home boss Garry Monk has a near fully-fit squad to choose from for this clash, although Ghana international Andre Ayew is a doubt with a knee injury. The Swans boss may choose not to make many changes to his starting line-up from last time out against Norwich.
Bournemouth’s injury situation is the complete opposite to Swansea, as they have a host of injury problems, mostly long-term issues. Max Gradel, Tyrone Mings and Callum Wilson all have long-term injury problems, while captain Tommy Elphick is expected to be ruled out until boxing day with an ankle injury.
The Cherries also have doubts over midfielder Danny Pugh and winger Christian Atsu, who has yet to feature for Eddie Howe’s side this season.

Possible Swansea team selection: Fabianski, Naughton, Williams, Fernandez, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Montero, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Gomis

Possible Bournemouth team selection: Boruc, Francis, Cook, Distin, Daniels, Surman, Arter, Ritchie, Gosling, King, Murray

Swansea v Bournemouth Match Prediction

Swansea are not likely to ever have a better chance of getting back to winning ways than in this clash. The Swans are facing a Bournemouth team struggling to score goals, which has also been poor at the back.
For me the Welsh side will win this game, but with confidence at a low ebb in Wales there is a chance that Monk’s side could slip-up in this encounter.
Back Swansea to beat Bournemouth at odds of 4/5
