Last game of the season for Swansea and they entertain Manchester City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League, as the visitors look to seal to a Champions League spot.

The Welsh side produced a fantastic performance to win 4-1 at West Ham last time out. Winger Wayne Routledge opened the scoring and Ghana international Andre Ayew doubled the Swans lead before the break.

Ki Sung-yeung made it three in the second half, only for the Irons to get a goal back through an own goal from Stephen Kingsley. However, the three goal lead was restored in stoppage-time through striker Bafetimbi Gomis.

Despite looking like relegation candidates earlier in the season, Swansea could now finish in the top-ten of the Premier League this season.

Manchester City drew 2-2 with Arsenal last time out in Manuel Pellegrini’s last home game as boss. Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for City, before Olivier Giroud headed an equaliser for the Gunners.

Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne put City back into the lead in the second half, but with less than 20 minutes remaining Alexis Sanchez equalised for the Gunners.

City will head into this clash two points above arch-rivals Manchester United, who lost their game in-hand on Wednesday against West Ham. The Citizens have a far superior goal difference to United, so a draw would be enough to confirm fourth place and a Champions League play-off spot for next season.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met on just nine occasions in the Premier League, with City dominating proceedings by recording seven wins, while Swansea have won once and one game has finished in a draw.

The Citizens have also edged the four Premier League games at the Liberty Stadium by recording two wins. Swansea have won just once and one game has been drawn.

Manchester City have won the last five meetings of these two teams in all competitions and Swansea have won just two of the last ten competitive meetings.

Swansea have won their last four home games in the Premier League and conceded just one goal in the process. There have also been under 2.5 goals scored in six of Swansea’s last seven Premier League games at the Liberty Stadium.

However there has been over 2.5 goals scored in Swansea’s last four Premier League games

Team Selection And News

The home side will be without first choice ‘keeper Lucas Fabianski and attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson through injury, while winger Jefferson Montero, full-back Neil Taylor, centre-back Ashley Williams and striker Alberto Paloschi are also doubts.

City head into this game without centre-back Vincent Kompany, while there are also doubts over the fitness of full-backs Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov, as well as attacking midfielders David Silva and Samir Nasri.

Possible Swansea Team Selection

Nordfeldt, Naughton, Amat, Fernandez, Kingsley, Fer, Cork, Ki, Barrow, Routledge, Ayew

Possible Manchester City Team Selection

Hart, Sagna, Mangala, Otamendi, Clichy, Navas, Toure, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Aguero, Iheanacho

Match Prediction

Swansea have been strong at home of late, but I can see City being desperate for a victory in this clash and gaining a crucial win in south Wales.
