Swansea hosts West Ham at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League, as two out-of-form teams clash in Wales.
Swansea’s poor run of form continued last time out with a 2-1 defeat at Manchester City. The Swans sacked Garry Monk last week and the Swans produced a decent performance at the Etihad Stadium.
Unfortunately they still suffered defeat in Manchester. Former-Swansea striker Wilfried Bony came back to haunt his old club with the opening goal. French striker Bafetimbi Gomis scored a stoppage-time equaliser, only for Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho to grab a last-gasp winner for City.
The defeat leaves the Welsh side dangerously close to the relegation zone in 17th position, only outside the drop zone on goal difference.
West Ham has now gone five Premier League games without a Premier League win. Last time out the Hammers endured a goalless draw against Stoke at the Boleyn Ground. The Hammers have suffered a number of key injuries in recent months and it has been key to their recent dip in form.
Slaven Bilic’s team have now had successive goalless draws and their lack of attacking options must be a concern for the Hammers. The side from the East End have now fallen to eighth in the Premier League table.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met just six times in the Premier League. West Ham has recorded three wins, Swansea two and the other game was drawn.
However the three games at the Liberty Stadium has seen one Swansea win and two draws. The Hammers have never won at the Liberty in the top-flight.
Swansea has won just one of the last ten meetings between the two sides in all competitions. That win came in 2012.
West Ham has now drawn their last three games in the Premier League.
There have also been under 2.5 goals scored in five out of the Hammers last six games in the top-flight.
However, there have been over 2.5 goals scored in the Swans last three home games in the Premier League.
The manager-less Welsh outfit have lost five out of their last six games in the top-flight.

Team Selection & News

Swansea are still without full-back Franck Tabanou, while midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and striker Eder are also doubts for this clash. The Swans could recall winger Jefferson Montero and striker Bafetimbi Gomis to the starting line-up for this vital encounter.
The visitors are in the midst of an injury crisis at the moment. Attacking midfielders Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini join striker Diafra Sakho on the injured list. Winston Reid and Victor Moses are also out of action through injury. Ecuadoran attacker Enner Valencia could return to the starting line-up though in place of Michail Antonio.

Possible Swansea team line-up: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Cork, Montero, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Gomis

Possible West Ham team line-up: Adrian, Jenkinson, Tomkins, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Song, Noble, Zarate, Kouyate, Valencia, Carroll

Swansea v West Ham Match Prediction

Both these sides are low on confidence at the moment, but this is a vital game for both teams at different ends of the table. West Ham need to win to maintain their spot in the top half of the table, while Swansea need the win to avoid slipping into the drop zone.
However I think there will be disappointment for both, as I believe the two teams will cancel each other out and it will end in a draw.
