Tottenham v Liverpool Preview
Tottenham and Liverpool go head-to-head at White Hart Lane on Saturday in the early Premier League kick-off. Tottenham kicked their season off with a draw at Everton and last time out a late 1-0 win over London rivals Crystal Palace and are odds of to record a win in this one. The only goal of the game came from Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama on 83 minutes.
The win was Tottenham’s first Premier League win in six outings, stretching back to the end of last season. The north London side’s form dropped off towards the end of the campaign, but four points from their opening two top-flight games is a decent return for Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Tottenham have a poor recent record against Liverpool, having failed to win any of the last seven meetings with the Reds, although the two league meetings ended in draws last season. Spurs also have a relatively poor overall record against the Merseysiders in the Premier League. The side from north London have met Liverpool 48 times in the Premier League, recording 13 wins, compared to 22 victories to Liverpool and 13 games have finished in draws.

Tottenham have a slightly better record in the 24 Premier League meetings at White Hart Lane, recording 11 wins, while six games have finished in draws and Liverpool have won on seven occasions. However, the Reds are unbeaten in their last three visits to Spurs, which has seen the Merseysiders record 5-0 and 3-0 victories, before a goalless draw last season. Liverpool have carried their unpredictable form of last season into the new campaign. The Reds suffered a 2-0 defeat at Burnley last time out and are to win this clash. Jurgen Klopp’s side followed up an excellent 4-3 win at Arsenal on the opening day with a poor display at Turf Moor. The Clarets established a two-goal lead in the first half through goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray. The Merseysiders dominated the possession but failed to create many clear-cut chances in a lacklustre display.

Team news:
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino decided to field two strikers against Crystal Palace with Harry Kane playing a more withdrawn role and new signing Vincent Janssen up front. The Spurs boss may stick with the same formation for this clash, which means England midfielder Dele Alli once again missing out. First choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is sidelined through injury, so Michel Vorm will continue in goal.  Belgium international Mousa Dembele is still sidelined through suspension. Kevin Wimmer and Heung-Min Son are also doubts for the home side.
Liverpool are still without goalkeeper Loris Karius through injury, while Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez, Lucas Leiva and Sadio Mane are all doubts for the clash. Jurgen Klopp may start with the same eleven as last time out, despite that defeat at Burnley.

Possible Tottenham team line-up:
Vorm, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Wanyama, Eriksen, Kane, Lamela, Kane
Possible Liverpool team line-up:
Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Coutinho, Lallana, Sturridge

Recommended betting tip:
These two teams are just working their way into the campaign and I can see this being an entertaining draw, which can be backed at odds of 5/2 with Winner Sports. An alternative bet is a 2-2 draw with goals almost guaranteed.
