Tottenham hosts West Ham at White Hart Lane on Sunday in the Premier League, with the hosts looking to move closer to the top of the table.
Tottenham’s good form in recent weeks has seen the team from north London move up the Premier League table to fifth spot, just five points behind league leaders Manchester City.
Last time Mauricio Pochettino’s side produced an impressive performance in a 1-1 draw with arch-rivals Arsenal in the north London derby. Harry Kane gave Spurs a deserved first half lead, before Arsenal substitute Kieran Gibbs grabbed an equaliser on 77 minutes.
In truth, many Spurs fans were disappointed with just a draw from the game, but they will take heart from their teams strong performance on their rivals own patch.
West Ham will kick-off this game in sixth-place in the table, level on points with their London rivals. Slaven Bilic’s side have impressed this season, but last time out drew 1-1 with Everton at the Boleyn Ground.
Impressive young Argentinian playmaker Manuel Lanzini opened the scoring, before that tormentor of the Hammers defence Romelu Lukaku scored just before half-time to level the scores. The Belgium striker has now scored in seven consecutive games against the Hammers.
Bilic’s team will be looking for another impressive away scalp, having already won at Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool in the current campaign.

Facts And Figures

Tottenham have had the better of the Premier League meetings between these two teams, winning 18 of the 38 games played. West Ham has claimed 12 wins and eight games have resulted in draws.
As you would expect Spurs have had the better of the Premier League meetings at White Hart Lane, winning ten of the 19 games played. West Ham has won four and five games have been drawn.
Despite their better overall record in the Premier League, Tottenham have won just one of the last five matches in all competitions against the Hammers.
Tottenham are now unbeaten in 11 Premier League games, with their last defeat coming on the opening day at Manchester United.

Team News

Tottenham are without attacking midfielders Alex Pritchard and Nacer Chadli through injury and Erik Lamela through suspension. The home side also have doubts of the fitness of Clinton N’Jie and Mousa Dembele. However, forward Heung Min-Son could return to the starting line-up after recovering from injury.
West Ham suffered a terrible blow in the Everton game, as star midfielder Dmitri Payet limped-off. The French international faces close to three months on the sidelines following James McCarthy’s reckless tackle.
Elsewhere centre-back James Collins is suspended and striker Enner Valencia has picked-up an injury which will sideline him till the New Year. Pedro Obiang, Alex Song and Diafra Sakho are also doubts for the clash.

Possible Tottenham team selection: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Alli, Son, Dembele, Eriksen, Kane

Possible West Ham team selection: Adrian, Jenkinson, Tomkins, Reid, Cresswell, Noble, Kouyate, Moses, Lanzini, Antonio, Carroll

Tottenham v West Ham Match Prediction

Tottenham seem to have hit form of late, with Harry Kane rediscovering his scoring touch. The Hammers campaign could be derailed by the absence of star playmaker Dimitri Payet and I believe that Spurs will have enough quality to see off the Hammers in this London derby.
