UEFA Champions League Betting Preview Match Day 6 (part one)

Game week six will be the deciding round of fixtures in the Champions League group stages. Some team’s wills rise and some will fall. Here are the vital fixtures that will take place in game week six: We take a quick look at the likely outcome on each match and give you our recommended betting tips and the odds available on that tip.

PSG v Shakhtar Donetsk
Big spending French outfit PSG have already qualified for the last 16 of the competition and do not have much to play for in this clash. Last time out in the competition PSG hammered group whipping boys Malmo 5-0 in Sweden. They are currently three points behind leaders Real Madrid and have a better head-to head record.
Shakhtar can no longer make the knockout stages, but their main priority will now be to finish third in the group and make the Europa League. The Ukrainians are currently ahead of fourth spot Malmo on the head-to head and could even afford to lose this game, if as expected Malmo lose in Madrid.

Match Odds:
PSG 4/11
Draw 18/5
Shakhtar Donetsk 7/1

Recommended Betting Tip:
Back PSG/PSG in the half time/full time market (11/10 Corals)

Real Madrid v Malmo
Real Madrid has already certainly confirmed their spot as group winners. The Spaniards lead second place PSG by three points and have a better head-to-head record. A draw in this clash would be enough to clinch top spot. A defeat could even see Los Blancos top the group depending on goal difference.
Los Blancos have won four and drew one of their five group games so far this season, having won 4-3 against Shakhtar Donetsk last time out.
Malmo has struggled to make an impact in this competition, claiming just one win from their five group games. Their poor performance means they are bottom of the group. The Swedish side must better Shakhtar’s result if they are to go through, with the Ukrainian side enjoying the better head-to-head record.

Match Odds:
Real Madrid 1/14
Draw 10/1
Malmo 45/1

Recommended Betting Tip:
Real Madrid to win to Nil (7/10 Corals)

Wolfsburg v Manchester United
The top two teams from Group B clash in Germany. The home side are currently top of the group, but only lead United by a point and third-place PSV Eindhoven by two points. A home win would seal qualification and also top spot for the Wolves. Last time Wolfsburg claimed a 2-0 victory against group whipping boys CSKA Moscow.
Manchester United are in need of a victory to guarantee progression to the knockout stages. A draw may be enough, but the Red Devils would need CSKA Moscow to beat PSV in the other group game for that to happen. United drew 0-0 with PSV at Old Trafford last time out.

Match Odds:
Wolfsburg 11/5
Draw 21/10
Manchester United 15/8

Recommended Betting Tip:
This looks like a draw to us and hopefully will be enough for United to scrape through (21/10 Corals)

PSV Eindhoven v CSKA Moscow
PSV heads into their last group game against CSKA third in Group B, but with a chance of still winning the group. The Dutch champions know that even a draw could be enough if United suffer defeat at Wolfsburg, as PSV have a better head-to-head record.
CSKA Moscow are bottom of the group and need a victory over PSV to have any chance of making it to third spot and earning a Europa League spot. Last time out the Russian side suffered a 2-0 home defeat against group leaders Wolfsburg.

Match Odds:
PSV Eindhoven 19/20
Draw 12/5
CSKA Moscow 13/5

Recommended Betting Tip:
This is the last chance for CSKA Moscow to stay in Europe and can win at odds of 13/5 (Corals)

Galatasaray vs FC Astana
The home side have endured a poor Champions League campaign so far, picking-up just four points from their five group games, losing three of those games in the process. However the Turkish side will finish third in the group with just a draw in this clash.
Galatasaray have conceded two or more goals in nine out of their last ten Champions League games. They have also suffered defeat in eight of their last ten games in the competition.
FC Astana are the first ever Kazakhstani team to appear in the group stages of the Champions League. They have failed to win any of their games, but have picked-up three draws from their five group games so far. An away win would see Astana finish in third spot and clinch a spot in the Europa League.

Match Odds:
Galatasaray 2/5
Draw 16/5
FC Astan 7/1

Recommended Betting Tip:
Galatasaray are too strong and can see them winning comfortably, back them winning 2-0 (11/2 Corals)

Benfica v Atletico Madrid
The top two teams in Group C meet in Lisbon, with both teams already qualified for the last 16 of the competition. The home side need a victory or a draw to finish top of the group, as they have the edge in the head-to-head record. Last time out the Portuguese side drew 2-2 with bottom of the group Astana.
Atletico Madrid needs to win to claim top spot in the group, as Benfica won the reverse fixture 2-1. Last time out Diego Simeone’s side defeated Galatasaray 2-0. The Spanish side have built their Champions League campaign on having a solid defence, as they have kept 11 clean sheets in their last 14 games in the competition.

Match Odds:
Benfica 15/8
Draw 21/10
Atletico Madrid 29/20

Recommended Betting Tip:
Atletico Madrid to win and finish top of the table (29/20 Corals)

Manchester City v Borussia Monchengladbach
The home side have already qualification for the last 16, but will be looking to finish as group leaders. The Citizens suffered a 1-0 defeat at group leaders Juventus last time out in the competition, but could win the group if Juventus slip-up against Sevilla.
The visitors are currently in third spot in the group and will be vying with Sevilla for a spot in the Europa League. The German side are currently two points clear of the Spanish side, who face a tough game against Juventus. Last time out Monchengladbach defeated Sevilla 4-2 to keep their Europa League hopes alive.

Match Odds:
Manchester City 1/2
Draw 29/10
Borussia Monchengladbach 11/2

Recommended Betting Tip:
There will be goals so back the over 3.5 goals market (5/4 Corals)

Sevilla v Juventus
Sevilla need a victory to move above Monchengladbach into third position and into the Europa League spot, but face a difficult challenge against the group leaders Juventus. The Spaniards would also need Monchengladbach to suffer defeat at Manchester City to finish third.
The Spanish side have endured a woeful European campaign and have suffered defeats in seven of the last eight games in this competition.
Juventus are top of the group and a draw may be enough to guarantee top spot in the group. A victory will guarantee top spot for last season’s finalists. The Bianconeri have lost just one of their last 15 Champions League games, with that defeat coming in last year’s final against Barcelona.

Match Odds:
Sevilla 6/4
Draw 21/10
Juventus 7/4

Recommended Betting Tip:
Juventus to beat Sevilla the odds are 7/4 at Corals. Much too big a price
