UEFA Champions League betting preview and tips week five (part two)

Wednesday night’s games in the Champions League could be defining ones in Europe’s elite competition. Here are the betting previews, tips and match odds of these crucial games that are taking place in the second round of games in week five of the competition:

Malmo FF v Paris Saint Germain
The home side are in need of a victory to have any chance of qualification from this group, having lost three of their four group games so far. Last time out the Swedish side suffered a 4-0 drubbing by Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
Big spending PSG are second in group A and last time out suffered a 1-0 defeat at Spanish giants Real Madrid. However, Laurent Blanc’s side could move level on points with Real Madrid, but that would depend on an unlikely win for Shakhtar in the other group game.

Match Odds:
Malmo FF 9/1
Draw 9/2
Paris Saint Germain 2/7

Betting Tip:
Any easy win for PSG so back more than 2.5 goals in the match, the odds are 8/13 with Corals

Shakhtar Donetsk v Real Madrid
Shakhtar Donetsk kept their slim hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition alive with a 4-0 hammering of Malmo last time out. However, the Ukrainians will have to depend on second-place PSG slipping-up to have any chance of making the last 16.
Real Madrid has already sealed their place in the knockout stages and will now look to win the group. Los Blancos have been impressive in recent years in the Champions League and have suffered just three defeats in their last 30 Champions League games.
The Spanish giants have also been very good in defence, keeping clean sheets in 11 of their last 14 Champions League games. The former-European champions have to be considered heavy favourites for this clash, despite their El Clasico 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Barcelona.

Match Odds:
Shakhtar Donetsk 3/1
Draw 11/4
Real Madrid 17/20

Betting Tip:
Real Madrid to top the group with a win against Shaktar Donetsk, current odds are 17/20 with Corals

Manchester United v PSV Eindhoven
The top two teams in Group B clash at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils just a point ahead of their opponents. United claimed a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow last time out in the competition, but a win in this clash is vital for Louis van Gaal.
PSV also collected maximum point’s last time out with a 2-0 home victory over Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. The Dutch champions had previously suffered consecutive defeats in Europe.
Group B is the tightest group in this season’s competition, so a win in this clash could be vital for either side in their attempts to make the knockout stages of the competition.

Match Odds:
Manchester United 4/9
Draw 7/2
PSV Eindhoven 6/1

Betting Tip:
We are backing ManUtd / ManUtd in the half time/full time betting market at odds of 13/10 with Corals

CSKA Moscow v Wolfsburg
The two bottom teams in group B meet in Moscow, with both teams still in with a chance of making it the knockout stages. The home side are bottom of the group, but such is the tight nature of the group they could move up to second with a win in this game.
German side Wolfsburg are only outside the qualification places on head-to-head performance. A win could prove a vital one. Last time out in the competition the Wolves suffered a 2-0 defeat at PSV Eindhoven.

Match Odds:
CSKA Moscow 6/5
Draw 12/5
Wolfsburg 11/5

Betting Tip:
A tight affair but Wolfsburg can come out on top at odds of 11/5 with Corals

Atletico Madrid v Galatasaray
Atletico Madrid head into this game second in Group C and would confirm their place in the knockout stages with a win over their Turkish opponents. Diego Simeone’s side underwhelmed last time out in the competition with a goalless draw against Astana and will be looking for a far more positive display in this clash.
Galatasaray still have a chance of making the last 16 of the competition, despite having won just one of their last 12 Champions League games. The Turkish outfit have been poor at the back in the Champions League, conceding two or more goals in eight of their last nine European games. Last time out in Europe they suffered a 2-1 defeat at group leaders Benfica.

Match Odds:
Atletico Madrid 2/7
Draw 17/4
Galatasaray 10/1

Betting Tip:
Atletico to win at short odds of 2/7 to finish top at odds of 2/7 with Corals

FC Astana v Benfica
FC Astana has struggled to make an impact on the competition, failing to win any of their group games. In fact the Kazakhstani champions have failed to win any of their last five games in the Champions League. Astana look to have very little chance of qualifying for the last 16.
Benfica have had no such trouble, having won three of their four group games this season. A win will mean that the Portuguese side will make it to the knockout stages of the competition. Last time out in the Champions League Benfica claimed a crucial 2-1 win against Galatasaray.

Match Odds:
FC Astana 9/2
Draw 13/5
Benfica 4/6

Betting Tip:
A win for Benfica, current odds are 4/6 with Corals

Borussia Monchengladbach v Sevilla
Neither of these two sides has impressed in this seasons group stages and both look unlikely to make it to the last 16 of the competition.
Monchengladbach has failed to win any of their group games so far and have picked-up just two points from their four group games. Last time out in the competition the Bundesliga side claimed a 1-1 draw with Italian champions Juventus, but the draw did their chances of making the knockout stages no favours.
The visitors still have an outside chance of making the knockout stages, but the Spanish side have been poor in the Champions League. Los Rojiblancos have suffered defeat in six of their last seven games in the competition.
The Spanish side have also been poor at the back, conceding two or more goals in their last three games in Europe.

Match Odds:
Borussia Monchengladbach 31/20
Draw 9/4
Sevilla 7/4

Betting Tip:
Sevilla to win and net us a profit at decent odds, the current odds are 7/4 with Corals

Juventus v Manchester City
The top two teams in Group D go head-to-head at the Juventus Stadium. Manchester City has won their last three Champions League clashes, after opening their campaign with a 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture.
Last time out in the competition City collected a 3-1 victory against Sevilla to move to the top of the group. A win for Manuel Pellegrini’s side will mean qualification for the knockout stages.
Juventus will also qualify for the last 16 if they claim a victory in Turin. The Bianconeri drew 1-1 in Germany with bottom of the group Borussia Monchengladbach last time out. The Italian champions have lost just one of their last 14 Champions League games.
A draw may be enough to see both teams qualify for the knockout stages, depending on the result of the other game in the group involving Sevilla and Monchengladbach.

Match Odds:
Juventus 27/20
Draw 21/10
Manchester City 11/5

Betting Tip:
The prudent bet would be back the draw as it is enough for both teams, the odds are 21/10 with Corals
