UEFA Champions League preview game week five (part one)

We are getting to the crucial period in the Champions League group stages, with teams being eliminated and others qualifying for the knockout stages. Here are the games that are taking place on Tuesday night in Europe’s elite competition:

BATE Borisov v Bayer Leverkusen
This game sees the two bottom teams in Group E clash. The home side have suffered three defeats from their four Champions League group games, but due to results elsewhere the Belarus champions could move up to second in the group with a victory over their German opponents.
Bayer has performed slightly better in the group picking-up one more point than their opponents. However, the German side have failed to win any of their group games since their opening game week victory over BATE.
This game promises goals with Bayer conceding two or more goals in their last three Champions League and BATE have conceded at least two goals in each of their last five games in the competition.

Match Odds:
BATE Borisov 15/4
Draw 11/4
Bayer Leverkusen 8/11

Betting Tip:
Match to have more than 2.5 goals, the odds are 4/5 with Corals

Barcelona v Roma
Barcelona are top of Group E and will seal qualification for the knockout stages with a victory in this clash. The European champions have won the last three games in the competition and 13 of their last 15 games in the Champions League.
The European giants have been prolific in Europe’s elite competition, having scored two or more goals in eight of their last nine games.
The Giallorossi desperately need to take something from their visit to the Nou Camp, as they are just a point clear of third-place Bayer Leverkusen in the group. The Italian side have also been prolific in front of goal in the Champions League, scoring two or more goals in their last three games in the competition.

Match Odds:
Barcelona 2/7
Draw 9/2
Roma 9/1

Betting Tip:
Match to have more than 3.5 goals, the odds are 19/20 with Corals

Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb
Arsenal have surprisingly struggled in Group F and their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages are hanging by a thread, after the Gunners suffered back-to-back defeats against Dinamo and Olympiakos in the opening games of the group.
Arsenal have won just one of their last four Champions League games and have to win both their remaining two games to have any chance of making the knockout stages.
The Croatian champions shocked the Gunners 2-1 in the reverse fixture. However, Zoran Mamic’s side have suffered three consecutive defeats since their opening game victory. Dinamo looks unlikely to qualify and anything but a win would mean elimination.

Match Odds:
Arsenal 1/5
Draw 11/2
Dinamo Zagreb 12/1

Betting Tip:
Arsenal to win 3-1, the correct score odds are 9/1 with Corals

Bayern Munich v Olympiakos
Bayern Munich has won three out of their last four Champions League games, with a defeat by Arsenal the only blip. A win would see the Bavarians qualify for the knockout stages. Last time out in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena Bayern hammered Arsenal 5-1.
Olympiakos have been the surprise of Group F, winning their last three games by a one goal margin. The Greek side just need a draw from their last two games to make the knockout stages of the competition.
A draw in this clash would mean both teams qualified for the last 16, with Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb being eliminated from the competition.

Match Odds:
Bayern Munich 1/9
Draw 15/2
Olympiakos 20/1

Betting Tip:
An easy win for Bayern Munich so back a 3-0 win at odds of 11/2 with Corals

FC Porto vs Dynamo Kiev
Porto has won their last three games in Group G, after drawing their first game of the campaign. The Portuguese side sit top of the group and will qualify for the knockout stages with a victory. Julen Lopetegui’s side have lost just one of their last 16 Champions League games.
If Porto take anything from the game and Chelsea slip-up against Maccabi that would mean they would finish top of the group whatever happens in the remaining games.
Kiev still have hope of making the last 16, but need to pick something up from this clash and a Chelsea slip-up against Maccabi Tel Aviv would also massively benefit Sergey Rebrov’s team. The Ukrainian side are two points behind the Premier League team in the group and a further three behind Porto.

Match Odds:
Porto 8/13
Draw 14/5
Dynamo Kiev 19/4

Betting Tip:
We see this being tight so the best bet is the draw, odds are 14/5 with Corals

Maccabi Tel Aviv v Chelsea
Maccabi Tel Aviv has endured a nightmare European campaign this season, losing all four of their group games, scoring just once and conceding 11 times . The Israeli club have already been eliminated from the competition and are playing for little more than pride.
Chelsea has endured a difficult campaign, but are still on course for qualification from Group G. The Blues are currently second in the group having won two of their four group games.
A win against the group whipping boys would put their fate in their own hands heading into the last game of the group against leaders Porto at Stamford Bridge. Despite their inconsistent campaign, Jose Mourinho’s men have suffered just one defeat in their last 12 Champions League games.

Match Odds:
Maccabi Tel Aviv 8/1
Draw 7/2
Chelsea 4/11

Betting Tip:
A win for Chelsea but for value back the over 2.5 goals market, current odds are 19/20 with Corals

Lyon v Gent
French Ligue One outfit Lyon have endured a poor European campaign so far, picking up just a solitary draw from their four Champions League games. In fact the French side have suffered defeat in five out of their last six games in the competition.
Last time out in Europe they suffered a 2-0 home defeat by group leaders Zenit. The French side are all but out of the competition.
Belgian side Gent still have a chance of qualifying from the group, having picked-up four points from their four group games. However, they are two points behind second place Valencia and need to take something from this clash to take the race for qualification to the last game week.

Match Odds:
Lyon 8/13
Draw 3/1
Gent 17/4

Betting Tip:
Gent can cause a small upset and beat Lyon, current odds are 17/4 with Corals

Zenit St. Petersburg v Valencia
The top teams in Group H met at the Petrovsky Stadium, as group topping Zenit host Valencia. The Russians have a hundred per cent record in the group and would qualify for the knockout stages of the competition with a win. Andre Villas-Boas’ team have scored two or more goals in all four of those wins.
However, a Spanish win will all but qualify Los Ches for the last 16 of the competition. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team suffered a 1-0 loss last time at Gent in Champions league, so will be looking for an improvement in this clash.
Zenit won the reverse fixture 3-2 at the Mestalla and with the two team’s current form they have to be considered favourites to claim a win in this clash.

Match Odds:
Zenit St. Petersburg 11/10
Draw 23/10
Valencia 5/2

Betting Tip:
Back over 2.5 goals in this match the current odds are 6/5 with Corals
