West Brom host Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the early Premier League kick-off on Sunday looking to gain a surprise victory over the reigning champions.
West Brom have picked-up just one point from their first two games of their Premier League campaign. Last time out the Baggies drew 0-0 at newly promoted Watford on Saturday.
The Baggies struggled to score goals last season. Everybody connected with the Midlands side will be hoping that club-record signing Salomon Rondon can help improve that poor scoring record this season.
The Venezuelan international made a substitute appearance at Watford, but could be given his full debut in this clash.
Although they have not enjoyed the best of starts to the season, the Baggies will be buoyed by the fact that they claimed a 3-0 victory over the champions at the Hawthorns towards the end of last season.
Premier League champions Chelsea have endured a poor start to their campaign, picking up just one point from a possible six. Last time out the Blues were convincingly beaten 3-0 at title rivals Manchester City.
Boss Jose Mourinho’s row with club doctor Eva Carneiro has taken attention away from the team’s poor displays so far this season. Everybody connected with the club will be looking at this game as a chance for the Blues to kick-start their campaign.

Facts And Figures

The visitors have very much had the upper hand in encounters with the Baggies in the Premier League, having claimed 13 victories from 18 meetings. West Brom have won just three and there has also been two draws.
In nine Premier League meetings at the Hawthorns, Chelsea have a slightly better record having won five, with the Baggies collecting three wins and there being one draw, although as previously mentioned the Baggies claimed victory last time out against the Blues at the Hawthorns.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis has faced Jose Mourinho on three occasions, claiming two wins and suffering one defeat.

Team News

The home side are without long-term injury casualty Ben Foster, who will once again be deputised by Boaz Myhill. The Baggies also have a doubt over the fitness of on-loan Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis may choose to play with a lone striker, with Salomon Rondon coming in up front in place of Rickie Lambert and Saido Berahino may be moving to an attacking midfield role.

Possible West Brom line-up: Myhill, Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Brunt, Yacob, Fletcher, Berahino, Gardner, Morrison, Rondon

Possible Chelsea line-up: Courtois, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Matic, Fabregas, Willian, Ramires, Hazard, Costa

Chelsea have started their Premier League campaign in a poor manner, but the home side have not started well either. Sooner or later Chelsea’s quality will show and I expect the Blues to claim victory at the Hawthorns on Sunday.
