West Brom play hosts to Liverpool at the Hawthorns on Sunday in the Premier League, as the visitors look to clinch a top-six spot.

West Brom drew 1-1 at Bournemouth last time out. The Baggies took the lead through a strike from striker Salomon Rondon. However, the Cherries equalised with just eight minutes left on the clock to rescue a point.

The Baggies can finish anywhere between 12th and 16th position this season. Boss Tony Pulis is set for summer talks with the clubs owners after a poor run of form of late. This could be the former-Palace boss’ last game in charge.

Liverpool drew 1-1 with Chelsea last time out in the Premier League. The Reds went a goal behind through a solo goal from Belgian star Eden Hazard. However, Hazard’s international teammate Christian Benteke struck in stoppage-time to rescue a point for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The draw means that Liverpool could still finish sixth in the Premier League table, but are currently occupying eighth place in the top-flight table.

Facts And Figures

Liverpool have dominated the 19 Premier League meetings between these two teams by recording 12 victories, while West Brom have won four times and three games have been drawn.

The Merseysiders have also had the slight edge in the nine Premier League meetings at the Hawthorns recording five wins, while West Brom have won twice and two games have been drawn.

Three of the last four games between these two teams in all competitions have been drawn.

West Brom have lost their last three home games in the Premier League and have also failed to score. The Baggies have also failed to win any of their last eight Premier League games.

There has been under 2.5 goals scored in seven of the Baggies last nine Premier League games.

Liverpool have a very inconsistent away record in the Premier League, having won five and lost five of their last ten games on their travels.

There has been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of Liverpool’s last nine away games in the Premier League.

Team Selection And News

The home side will be without captain Chris Brunt, while fellow midfielders James Morrison and Alex Pritchard are also doubts for the clash. Baggies boss Tony Pulis may decide to name an unchanged starting line-up from last time out.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has fielded much changed line-ups in games of late and he is likely to rest some key players in this clash. Liverpool remain without Danny Ings, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Divock Origi through injury, while Mamadou Sakho is suspended.

Possible West Brom Team Selection

Foster, Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Evans, Yacob, Fletcher, Leko, Gardner, McClean, Rondon

Possible Liverpool Team Selection

Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Toure, Smith, Stewart, Lucas, Milner, Firmino, Ojo, Benteke

Match Prediction

Neither of these teams has much left to play for this season, but pride of course. However, Liverpool have the distraction of the Europa League final on Wednesday against Sevilla and are likely to field a weakened side. For me this will probably end in a draw.
