West Brom host Newcastle at the Hawthorns on Monday in the Premier League, as both teams look to recover from Boxing Day defeats.
West Brom are on a poor run of form and last time out suffered a 1-0 defeat at struggling Swansea, with South Korean international Ki Sung-Yeung grabbing the only goal of the game.
The defeat means that the Baggies have now gone five league games without claiming a win and are in danger of being dragged towards the relegation zone. Tony Pulis’ side are 13th position in the top-flight, but are just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Newcastle suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Everton on Boxing Day, as England international midfielder Tom Cleverley scored in stoppage-time to consign the Magpies to defeat.
The defeat coupled with others results have seen Steve McClaren’s team drop down to 18th position in the table. However they are only below 17th place Norwich on goal difference. A victory in the Midlands would move the side from the north east level on points with the Baggies.

West Brom v Newcastle Match Prediction

This game sees two of the Premier League’s strugglers go head-to-head. Neither has been prolific in front of goal this season. This is unlikely to be a great watch for the neutral and all the signs point to a rather lacklustre draw.
