Midtable West Brom host high-flying West Ham at the Hawthorns on Saturday in the Premier League, as the visitors look to keep their chances of a top four finish alive.

West Brom halted a relatively poor run of form last time out with a very creditable 1-1 draw at title-chasing Tottenham. Spurs took the lead in the first half, as Craig Dawson diverted the ball past his own ‘keeper.

The former-Rochdale centre-back made up for his error by scoring a late equaliser to earn the Baggies what looked like an unlikely point for much of the match.

Tony Pulis’s side are comfortably in midtable in 13th position in the Premier League and can now enjoy the rest of the campaign, as it now looks highly unlikely they will be dragged into the fight for survival.

West Ham enjoyed a weekend off, but prior to that the Hammers recorded a 3-1 win in their last Premier League outing, with Mark Noble scoring a brace from the penalty spot and Andy Carroll also finding the net.

The Hammers are currently eight points off four-place Arsenal, but do have a game in-hand, so Slaven Bilic’s side does still have an outside chance of grabbing a Champions League spot this season.

Hammers striker Andy Carroll has been in superb form of late and has now scored six times in his last four top-flight appearances for the Irons. The former-Newcastle star has now scored nine goals in the Premier League this season.

Facts And Figures

These two teams have met 15 times in the Premier League, with West Ham winning five times, West Brom recording three wins and seven games resulting draws.

The seven meetings at the Hawthorns have seen West Ham win three times, West Brom record two victories and two games resulting in a draw.

Eight of the last ten meetings between these two teams in all competitions have finished in draws.

West Ham are unbeaten in their last eight games in the Premier League. However, the Irons have won just one of their last six away games in the top-flight.

West Brom have failed to win any of their last six Premier League outings, with four of those games finishing in defeat.

Team Selection And News

West Brom have a relatively clean bill of health with their only definite absentee for this clash being captain Chris Brunt, who is out for the season. Scotland international midfielder James Morrison is also a doubt though.

West ham boss Slaven Bilic has a near fully-fit squad to choose from, but does have doubts over the fitness of on-loan Barcelona midfielder Alex Song.

Possible West Brom Team Selection

Myhill, Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Evans, Yacob, Fletcher, Sessegnon, Gardner, McClean, Rondon

Possible West Ham Team Selection

Adrian, Antonio, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Kouyate, Lanzini, Payet, Sakho, Carroll

Match Prediction

West Brom have very little to play for but that did not stop them picking-up a point against Tottenham last time out. However, I believe that West Ham will just want the victory more in this clash and record a narrow win.
