West Brom hosts Southampton on Saturday at the Hawthorns, with both sides looking to secure their second Premier League victory of the season.
West Brom have enjoyed a mixed start to their campaign. Tony Pulis’ men have suffered two defeats, claimed one win and also picked-up one draw.
However, the Baggies did face Manchester City and Chelsea in their two home games of the season. Last time out West Brom defeated Stoke 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium, after Stoke were reduced to nine men in the first half.
The game in the Potteries saw record-signing Salomon Rondon open his goalscoring account for the Baggies. West Brom striker Saido Berahino was one of the main stories of transfer deadline day, as Tottenham failed with three bids for the striker.
The striker took to social media to declare his intent to never play for the Baggies again while chairman Jeremy Peace remained in charge. The 22-year-old was given an extended break and has now returned to training with the team.
Southampton have won just one of their first four Premier League games this season. Their only top-flight victory arrived last time out with a 3-0 victory over Norwich at St Marys, following a sending-off for Canaries full-back Steven Whittaker.
The Saints have also drawn two of their matches this season, so it has not been a disastrous start to the campaign for the side from the south coast.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman was active in the transfer market on deadline day snapping up compatriot Virgil van Dijk from Celtic for a fee in the region of £11.5million.

Facts And Figures

The Premier League head-to-head record between these two teams is pretty level, as in ten meetings West Brom have claimed four wins, Southampton have won three times and there has also been three draws.
The Baggies have had the best of it at the Hawthorns winning three out of five games played on home soil. The Saints have won just once at the Midlands club and there has also been on draw.
Three out of the last four games between the two sides have finished with a 1-0 score-line.
The odds of West Brom to win 1-0 are 7/1 with William Hill.

Team News

West Brom are likely to recall controversial striker Saido Berahino to the squad, but he is unlikely to start the game. Chris Brunt is likely to return to the team at left-back, after the Baggies sold Joleon Lescott to rivals Aston Villa on deadline day.
The Baggies are still without first choice ‘keeper Ben Foster, while centre-back James Chester is also a doubt for the clash.
Southampton are also without their first choice ‘keeper in Fraser Forster. The ‘keeper is joined on the sidelines by defender Florin Gardos, while Ryan Bertrand, Gaston Ramirez and Jordy Clasie are also doubts for the game. Van Dijk could replace Maya Yoshida at the heart of defence.

Possible West Brom line-up: Myhill, Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Brunt, Yacob, Fletcher, Gardner, Morrison, McClean, Rondon

Possible Southampton line-up: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Targett, Romeu, Wanyama, Mane, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Pelle

West Brom vs Southampton Prediction

Neither of these two teams has been sparkling, but neither have been terrible either this season. Victory last time out should give both teams confidence. However, I think this could be a close game and end all square.
West Brom and Southampton to draw back at odds of 2/1.
