West Ham and Bournemouth go head-to-head at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
The Hammers suffered a disappointing 2-1 home defeat last time out against Leicester at the Boleyn Ground. To add insult to injury first choice ‘keeper Adrian was dismissed in stoppage-time for a high foot on Jamie Vardy. The defeat followed on from the Irons superb 2-0 opening game win at Arsenal.
This game will give the Hammers the chance to put right some of the wrongs of their opening home game defeat. They will go into this game as heavy favourites to claim victory over the newly promoted Cherries., who have found life in the Premier League tough so far.
Bournemouth have lost both of their opening Premier League games 1-0. In their opening game they suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Aston Villa. Last time out they could count themselves highly unlucky to lose 1-0 at Liverpool.
The Cherries had a goal disallowed, while Christian Benteke’s winning goal was also controversial, as teammate Philippe Coutinho was offside and seemed to be interfering with play, despite not touching the ball.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe will be satisfied with his team’s performance on Merseyside, despite the loss to Brendan Rodgers team. The Irons are notoriously unpredictable and the Cherries will be looking to gain their first ever Premier League points at the Boleyn Ground.

Facts And Figures

This game will be the first time that these two teams have ever met in the top-flight, as it is the Cherries first season in the top-flight.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has a mixed record against the Hammers though, winning one, losing one and drawing one.
Bournemouth have never scored a top-flight goal, suffering 1-0 defeats in both of their Premier League encounters this season.

Team News

The Hammers are likely to be without first choice ‘keeper Adrian, after his red card against Leicester last time out. Slaven Bilic’s team have appealed against the decision, if it fails then Darren Rudolph will deputise while Adrian serves the first game of a three match ban.
Hammers strikers Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia remain on the sidelines through injuries, while defender Joey O’Brien is also a doubt for the clash.
Bournemouth have doubts over winger Christian Atsu and midfielders Shaun McDonald and Harry Arter. Eddie Howe may field the same starting line-up that was so unlucky not to take anything from Anfield on Monday night, although the likes of summer signings Tyrone Mings, Lee Tomlin and Sylvain Distin are all waiting for a chance to impress.

Possible West Ham line-up: Randolph, Jenkinson, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Oxford, Noble, Kouyate, Payet, Zarate, Sakho

Possible Bournemouth line-up: Boruc, Francis, Elphick, Cook, Daniels, Ritchie, Surman, O’Kane, Gradel, Wilson, King

Prediction

This game represents a perfect chance for West Ham to get their season back on track on home soil. They are not always reliable, as the Leicester game proved, but the likes of Diafra Sakho and Dmitri Payet should have too much quality for the visitors.

Our Big Match Tip

Back West Ham to win 2-0 with William Hills odds are currently 11/1.
